Vatnajokull Map / Location

The largest glacier in Iceland, Vatna Glacier spans 8,100 km², is 1000 m thick, and surrounds various volcanoes, making it a hotspot for subglacier eruptions. A major portion of the Vatnajokull National Park is devoted to this impressive ice cap. The glacier has been used as a filming location for both James Bond's "A View to Kill" and in Game of thrones.
