Ulysses S. Grant Memorial Map / Location

The bronze and marble memorial dedicated in 1922 portrays the United States president and Civil War general on horseback on a marble base with a bronze plaque illustrating soldiers marching. There are four lions surrounding the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial are meant to epitomize dignity and strength. The 44-foot high and 250-foot long memorial created by Henry Merwin Shrady is located in Washington D.C.'s Union Square and is the largest statuary group in the city.
