National Pantheon Map / Location

São Vicente de Fora is the pantheon of the last Portuguese monarchs, whereas the Alfama’s nearby Santa Engracia is the official National Pantheon, housing the tombs of several Portuguese presidents as well as writer Almeida Garrett (one of the country's leading 19th century literary figures). Santa Engracia’s dome has commanding 360-degree views of the city. On Tuesdays and Saturdays from dawn till dusk it plays host to the “Feira da Ladra,” or “Thieve’s Market,” Lisbon’s famous flea market.
