Place des Pyramides Map / Location

Feel the pull of history as you walk through this important public square located in the heart of Paris. It was named after the Battle of the Pyramids, Napoleon's military victory over Egypt. An equestrian center operated here during the reigns of Henry III, Henry IV, and Louis XIII. A gilded statue of Joan of Arc stands in the middle, located near the spot where she was wounded during her attack on Paris in 1429. The square is bounded on each side by Tuileries Garden, the Rue de Rivoli, and the Louvre.
