This complex of buildings once had the distinct honor of housing the tallest skyscraper in Italy, the Regione Lombardia, which was eventually eclipsed by the Unicredit Tower. However, Palazzo Lombardia, which was designed by world-renowned Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Architects, is still the main seat of the government of Lombardy.
