Old Town Clock Map / Location

The Halifax landmark's timepiece was designed in 1801 by British royal clock-maker House of Vulliamy and the three-tier structure atop a rectangular building was erected in 1803 as a gift from Prince Edward, Duke of Kent. Punctuality was very important to Prince Edward. Old Town Clock, which has been renovated several times throughout the years, is wound twice weekly and is powered by three weights, drums and cables. It is a National Historic Site of Canada and operated by Parks Canada.
