Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool Map / Location

The lengthy rectangular-shaped pool situated in front of the Lincoln Memorial is the largest reflecting pool in Washington, D.C. and was planned by Henry Bacon. Lincoln Memorial Pool, which was built between 1922-23 and contains approximately 6,750,000 gallons of water, was the site around which thousands gathered to hear Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech in 1963 and President Barack Obama's inauguration celebration in 2009. It underwent a major renovation from 2010-12.
