Lake Coatepeque Map / Location

A crater lake in the Coatepeque Caldera, Lake Coatepeque spans 26 square kilometres (10 sq mi) and is one of the largest lakes in El Salvador. Within the lake rests the island of Teopan, a private island to the rich and famous of El Salvador and where Maya spiritual leaders convened in ancient times.
