Gold Dredge 8 Map / Location

This ladder machine is located on Steese Highway between the Alaskan cities of Fairbanks and Fox. Gold Dredge No. 8 was used from 1928-1959 by the Fairbanks Exploration Co. excavating 7.5 million ounces of gold. It is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and was designated a Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. During dredge tours, visitors can pan for gold!
