Cojimar Map / Location

Located just east of Havana, Cojimar is a small fishing village The inspiration for Ernist Hemingway's Nobel Prize winning novel "The Old Man and the Sea" drew inspiration from here and the author frequently used the village port as a base for fishing. It was also the site of what is considered the biggest catch of a Great White Shark, measuring up to 21 feet, in 1945.
