This Southwest Florida city is listed in the "Guinness Book of World Records" for the most consecutive days of sunshine with 361. The Tocobaga Native Americans lived in Clearwater for many years before the United States Army established Fort Harrison there in 1835. The city gots in name from the numerous fresh water springs near its shores. Popular Clearwater attractions are Clearwater Beach, Pier 60, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Capitol Theatre, Cleveland Street and Old Pinellas County Courthouse.
