The African-themed 297-acre amusement and animal park that opened in 1959 has a long list of rides, attractions and experiences. Busch Gardens Tampa has 17 rides, 12 animal attractions and 10 attractions or tours as well as eight shows put on at various times. A "Sesame Street" theme also runs throughout the park with rides and attractions named after the show or its characters as well as dining options with costumed characters. The park's SheiKra ride was North America's first dive roller coaster with a 90-foot drop.
