Best Time to Visit Orlando

Winter 2026/2027
Orlando's mild and pleasant winters offer the most comfortable environment for visitors seeking to escape the bitter cold of northern climates. Average high temperatures hover around 70°F (22°C), with ample sunshine and low humidity, making it perfect for spending long days walking the expansive theme parks. From mid-November through early January, the city and its attractions are completely transformed by the Christmas season, featuring spectacular festive decorations, holiday-themed parades, and ticketed events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom and Holidays at Universal Orlando. After the busy New Year holidays, visitor numbers typically drop to their lowest of the year, which is ideal for travelers looking for lower prices and shorter queues.

Spring 2026
Spring in Orlando offers the most comfortable temperatures of the entire year, being far less hot and humid than summer, with average highs ranging between 70 and 80 °F (21 to 27 °C). The weather is consistently sunny and enjoyable, creating perfect conditions for all-day outdoor activities. With the local flora in full bloom, it is an ideal time to explore the stunning Harry P. Leu Gardens or take a scenic boat tour in nearby Winter Park. While crowds may peak during spring break and Easter holidays, the incredible weather makes it worth planning. For sports fans, catching an Orlando Magic NBA or Orlando City SC soccer game adds a great local flavor to the trip outside of the theme parks.

Summer 2026
Summer is Orlando's peak tourist season, when temperatures and humidity reach their highest levels. The weather is consistently hot and humid, with average highs around 90°F (33°C), making water activities and seeking air conditioning essential. Summer is also the region's rainy season, featuring frequent and intense afternoon thunderstorms that typically last only briefly. To beat the heat, visitors can go to the water parks like Universal's Volcano Bay and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. The season is abundant with activities and events, including massive Pride celebrations and extended theme park hours, which allow guests to enjoy rides late into the warm evenings. Booking FastPass or Express Passes is highly recommended to minimize wait times during this crowded and sunny season.

Autumn 2026
Fall in Orlando brings increasingly pleasant weather after the intense summer heat, with temperatures ranging from a warm 88 °F (31 °C) in September down to a mild 72 °F (22 °C) by November. As the Atlantic hurricane season winds down, October and November see a significant drop in visitors, making it an ideal time to explore the theme parks with lower crowds and much more comfortable temperatures. This is the prime season for Halloween festivities, including the terrifying Universal's Halloween Horror Nights and the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Additionally, the pleasant evenings are perfect for checking out local events like the Winter Park Autumn Art Festival or the diverse cultural celebration of FusionFest.

FAQs about Orlando Tours

What is the best month to visit Orlando?

Generally speaking, March through May is the best time to visit, with April offering the most favorable weather, typically around 80°F (27°C). For the fewest crowds, choose September, though keep in mind that this coincides with hurricane season.

What is Orlando's hidden gem?

While most tourists stick to the theme parks, Orlando's true hidden gem is Winter Park. Located just 20 minutes north of the main tourist districts, this charming city feels like a European village. The highlight here is the Scenic Boat Tour, a relaxing hour-long cruise through the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. You’ll sail past swaying Spanish moss, manicured gardens, and historic mansions. Afterwards, you can walk down Park Avenue, which is lined with sidewalk cafes, boutiques, and the beautiful Central Park. It is the perfect antidote to the high energy of the theme parks.

How many days in Orlando is enough?

We recommend 5 to 7 days so you can visit the three main theme parks and still have time to explore other attractions and shopping malls.

What to do in Orlando for 3 days?

If you only have three days, spend the first day at Disney World, Orlando's most iconic experience. On the second day, head to Universal Studios, a day tailored for thrill-seeking adventurers and movie enthusiasts. For the third day, visit the Kennedy Space Center, a world-class attraction where you can see the Space Shuttle Atlantis and real launch pads.
