We'll begin our day trip from Las Vegas to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend after picking you up in Las Vegas.
You can choose one from Upper/Lower/X Antelope Canyon:
X Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend
You will be transported in a 4X4 truck to the entrance of the X Canyon. Then hike 100 meters into Canyon X. Explore the beauty of the X Gorge and the slit gorge with the local Native Guide. Walk first 100 meters to X Canyon to see the first slit-type canyons, which is hidden in the foot seams and full of mysteries. Then walk 200 meters with your guide to reach the second gorge. Looking down from the air, you will see the water flowing in the sand and stones. In this gorge, the X formed by the millions of years of flooding and wind on the Navajo sandstone will stand out clear as day. When the sun shines on two deep and quiet valleys, the light and shadow will create a charming tableaux. It has become an exciting destination for photography enthusiasts so feel free to take as many photos as you'd like!
Then we'll head back on the road to Horseshoe Bend, a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona. Horseshoe Bend is located 5 miles (8.0km) downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, about 4 miles (6.4km) southwest of Page. It is accessible via hiking a 1.5-mile (2.4km) round trip from U.S Route 89, but a state park access road also reaches the geological structure. Horseshoe Bend can be viewed from the steep cliff above. The overlook is 4200 feet (1300m) above sea level, and the Colorado River is at 3200 feet (980m) above sea level, making it a 1000 feet (300m) drop.
Then we will go to Grand Dam. It is located on Kaveri river approximately 20 KM from Trichy city, the dam falls under Thanjavur district and is the fourth-oldest water-diversion or water-regulator structures in the world and the oldest in India which is still in use.
Afterwards, we'll return to Las Vegas around 8:00 PM.
Upper Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend
Experience breathtaking Upper Antelope Canyon. Known to the Navajo as “the place where water runs through rocks," this spectacular slot canyon features some of the most awe-inspiring geological formations ever created by nature. We'll travel in a 4x4 truck for an optimal viewing experience.
After arriving at about 11:30 am, an informative Navajo guide will take you on an easy, one-hour journey. You'll learn about the history, geology and culture of this sacred area. The guide will also stop at some of the most stunning places in the Upper Antelope Canyon for taking pictures. On your trek, you'll discover an exquisite petrified sand dune, created by wind, water and time—an experience you'll not forget!
Next, you'll visit Horseshoe Bend, a U-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona. Horseshoe Bend is also 5 miles (8.0km) downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam. We'll stop at the Horseshoe Bend scenic overlook which stands 1,000 feet above the Colorado River. Our visit to Horseshoe Bend will be in the early afternoon, the perfect time for capturing great photographs.
After a day of unforgettable sightseeing, we'll return to Las Vegas.
Lower Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend
Explore The Mystery of Lower Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend in 1 day!
We'll depart Las Vegas in the morning at about 6:00 am and head direct to Antelope Canyon. This colorful canyon is famously long and narrow with a walkable corridor at the bottom of the canyon floor. It was formed by flash floods flowing into the cracks of the Navajo sandstone which was then eroded by wind. Daylight penetrating through the narrow opening at the top creates different kinds of reflected light and colors. That makes this area a popular location for photographers and tourists.
Then we'll proceed to an area where the Colorado River made a 280 degree turn around the Horseshoe Bend shape of rock. It takes about 10 minutes from Antelope Canyon to Horseshoe Bend.
We'll arrive back in Las Vegas around 8:00 pm.
