New York City Tour Many of New York City's major monuments and attractions are America's iconic landmarks-the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge. But that"s only the beginning. Every borough offers points of interest and places you'll want to explore. Chinatown With one of the densest populations of Chinese immigrants in the Western Hemisphere, Manhattan's Chinatown is a true New York story, the American dream in action. The thriving immigrant population gives visitors access to the most far-flung wares and culinary delights, and to walk these streets is to walk through history. Wall Street Explore world-famous financial landmarks such as the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Reserve and Wall Street guided by real Wall Street insiders. While meandering through the narrow, winding streets of Lower Manhattan, you will hear exclusive stories from "inside the trenches" that will entertain, inform and shock you. South Street Seaport South Street Seaport has changed dramatically since the Fulton Fish Market moved to Hunts Point in the Bronx in 2005. Today, Pier 17's shopping and dining attracts visitors and Financial District professionals alike. Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty is perhaps New York City's most familiar landmark and the easiest one to overlook since it's only accessible by boat. Still, it's worth the short ferry ride to Liberty Island to see the historic monument that has welcomed so many generations of immigrants to our shores. Intrepid Museum The new Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a unique journey through spectacular interactive exhibits and virtual, multi sensory technology. Located at the new, parklike Pier 86, the complex boasts 30 restored aircrafts, the former USS Growler submarine and the British Airways Concorde. Empire State Building Take in panoramic vistas of New York City from its highest viewing point, the Empire State Building Observatory. Whether on a clear day or a starry night, this stop is a must for any visitor, which explains why its lines are equally famous. United Nations The United Nations is headquartered in New York, but it is an international zone representing the interests of its 192 member nations, each represented by a flag that lines the perimeter of the complex. Rockefeller Center A visit to New York City wouldn't be complete without a trip to Rockefeller Plaza, where skaters glide across the rink and thousands of lights gleam from the always-enormous annual tree in the winter, and outdoor dining options abound in the warmer months. No matter what the season, come for the shops (from the FDNY Fire Zone store and museum to Swarovski), the eats (from Dean & DeLuca to Mendy's Kosher Deli) and the stargazing here in NBC Studios' backyard. Tour bus returns back to 48 Bowery about at 6:00pm to 6:30pm; back to Flushing about at 7:00 to 7:30pm. |
