Los Angeles - Death Valley National Park
Summary of The Day: Kick start your West Coast road trip with a visit to LA's Walk of Fame and a tour of Hollywood, home to the most famous real estate sign in the world.
Then we'll begin our adventure, making a beeline for the hottest, driest and lowest place on planet Earth - Death Valley National Park. The blistering summer heat is no more, so your camera will lap up sights like Artist's Palette, a giant egg-box of turquoise, orange and red mineral deposits, Zabriskie Point, and the immense perspectives of Dante's View, a perfect view indeed!
- Camping or similar
Summary of The Day: Get ready for the city of excess: Las Vegas. Night life, high life, Las Vegas has it all. Take an included stretch limo tour of the Las Vegas Strip, and watch as night turns into day under the glare of neon marquees. Shows and excellent nightclubs make this a true `a city that never sleeps.'
- Local Hotel or similar
Summary of The Day: Spend another day being tempted by Sin City. For an interesting view of Vegas, why not fly high above the glitzy buildings on an evening Strip flight or simply enjoy a spot of people watching; Vegas is certainly full of interesting characters!

Hoover Dam - Route 66 - Grand Canyon
Summary of The Day: Departing the desert neon city of Vegas you travel a section of the original Route 66 and stop in the town of Seligman to experience Americana at its very best! This town feels like a living museum where time has stood still and a visit to the Snowcap Diner for super-thick milkshakes is always a fab treat!
Now admire a masterpiece etched by wind and water: the Grand Canyon.!

Grand Canyon National Park
Summary of The Day: Tread the Bright Angel Trail to Indian Gardens, or venture to Plateau Point. Better yet, take a helicopter flight (highly recommended) for a bird's-eye view and marvel at the brilliant colors. The canyon depths are nothing short of mind-blowing and the first time you cast your eyes into the belly of the canyon, the image will stay with you forever! Make sure you get up early to see the sunrise as it changes the colors of the rocks, one of the only times you'll have the canyon almost to yourself!
- Local Hotel or similar
Montezuma Castle National Monument - Betty & Rusty's Cowboy Camp
Summary of The Day: On the road again, drop by the ancient high-rise dwellings known as Montezuma Castle National Monument. Step back in time, and discover the hidden secrets of one of America's most ancient cultures, the Anasazi.
Next head out for our Wild West Cowboy Camp at Betty & Rusty's! This is a unique experience and one that you'll love sharing with your mates back home. Opt to mount your trusty steed and trot between the iconic saguaro cacti. With their familiar curved arms and looming as high as 20 feet, you're definitely in the Wild West here! Fresh from the saddle, tuck into an authentic chuck wagon dinner (that's a mobile cookhouse) before a night under a million desert stars.
- Camping or similar
Summary of The Day: A road trip just isn't a road trip without miles and miles of cactus-studded desert and sun-drenched Arizona doesn't disappoint. It's one of the largest and hottest deserts in North America and can fluctuate between dry and arid to lush and green. It's certainly a sight to behold so get those cam-eras ready for the perfect picture of the rolling sand dunes.
- Camping or similar
Summary of The Day: Prepare yourself for the unexpected burst of colour at Salvation Mountain, this crazy man-made mountain can also be spotted in the film 'Into the Wild!'
Next up is San Diego. With mild temperatures all year round, the Californian outdoors is where it's at. Rollerblade or hang out with the surfers on Mission Beach, feast on a tasty mahi-mahi taco, cycle Balboa Park or meet the residents of the world-famous San Diego Zoo. At night, why not head to the Gaslamp Quarter for live music, fun and the chance to rub shoulders with the good-looking locals?
- Camping or similar
Summary of The Day: Enjoy another day in sunny and relaxing San Diedo.
- Camping or similar
San Diego - Los Angeles
Summary of The Day: Kick up the Mojave Desert dust as you head for Los Angeles. Your tour leader will take you to eclectic Venice Beach to watch the muscle-clad locals strut their stuff on the sand under the Californian sunshine. Venice Beach is like a carnival running all year round... with free admission!
Why not add on a few more days to really explore the cities attractions such as Universal Studios and Santa Monica Pier, or explore LA to see how the locals live?

Emilyw10/31/2014best holiday i have ever had!!
I did the Wild West trek in march 2014, it was the experience of a life time. i travelled with a friend but made friends on the trek very quickly and got to share some beautiful moments with my new friends which i will cherish and i will b...e friends with these people for life now! i am not normally a camping sort of girl and was very worried about bugs and silly things but i should not of worried it was one of my favourite parts in the end and even ended up sleeping under the stars in betty and rustys cowboy camp and scorpion hunting in death valley :) The trip for me had so many highlights...the hours bonding in the van, eating steak and riding horses at betty and rustys cowboy camp, partying at lake havasu spring break, getting very drunk in vegas , shopping in vegas and seeing the sights, painting a part of history at salvation mountain, treking down bright angel trail in grand canyon, trying authentic american food, stopping at snowcap diner on route 66,celebrating st paddys day in LA, Universal Studios and best of all meeting new people who i love. Katie10/25/2014Time of my life!
I was so, so, SO nervous about travelling alone, and still can't believe I did it! But doing a Trek was the best thing I have ever done and I would recommend it to anyone. Our tour leader was awesome and knew the answer to anything. I have ...absolutely nothing negative to say, apart from that it was over too soon. I got home and started planning my next one straight away and am now thinking about my third. Read full review
Becky04/21/2014Amazing! Best thing ever!
I had always wanted to travel and had never done anything like this before. It didn't seem real till I was travelling down to London about to meet one of the girls off my trek. If you are unsure if to book it due to nerves, just do it. You ...will not regret it. The scenery, the people, the freedom and Katelyn, our tour guide, were the best things about this trip. You get to go to all the best places (Vegas, Grand Canyon) and spend a decent amount of time in each one. Everyone goes mental in Vegas as it just sucks you in. Incredible place. I would recommend the helicopter ride round the Canyon too. It may be pricey but the moment the Canyon opens up below your feet, it is worth every penny. I was umming and arring all of the trek about booking it but I cannot describe the buzz after it. I would say if you do go when the clocks to back (November time) then do take an extra jacket. It gets cold at night especially in the Canyon when you watch the sunrise. Unfortunately, the cold took the beautiful sunrise away from me but if you take the right stuff it'd be mega. Just be prepared. I cannot wait to book my next trip. Don't hesitate. Just do it. Read full review
Caroline Donald03/24/2014Wild - Camping - Amazing Scenery - Can I do it again?? ;)
I am just back from my first trek and I chose the Wild West Trek, Wow it did not disappoint! it was amazing in every single way! from learning how to put up a tent, to the amazing stop offs that our trek leader Alex took us too which wasnt ...on the itineary, we got the choice of going to spring break at lake havasu! :) Vegas!! - out of this world - just didnt have enough time to enjoy it all. Met some amazing people who are now going to be long term friends. everyone bonded really well but i have to say creating a facebook group prior to the trek and inviting everyone to join it helped get to know each other prior to the trek. I am a girlie girl and soon got in to the swing of not straightening my hair everyday and embrassing the camping life! everyone is in the same boat! cant wait to book my next trek! America I will be back :) Read full review
