After we meet at the designated hotel (details will be emailed before the trip), join us for a guided walking tour combining ancient wonders with Renaissance masterpieces. Along the way we'll see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Roman Forum and the Colosseum before heading back to the hotel for our welcome dinner.

You are going to love Rome! The whole day is yours to explore this ancient city.

Most of the historical landmarks and ancient Roman structures are within the city center, making it that much easier to navigate. Make sure you set off for the major attractions as early as possible, as lines at the major attractions such as the Colosseum can be very long.

Want to visit Vatican City and see Michelangelo's famous painting on the roof of the Sistine Chapel? Your Expat tour leader can organize fast-track tickets for you; once you are ahead of the queues, you'll have VIP access to the Vatican City (own expense). The Sistine Chapel awaits, as does St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and one of the world's best private art collections. You never know ... maybe the Pope will be in residence!

Time for new Rome-antics! Another free day in in the capital to explore as you wish. This is your opportunity to either catch up on what you have missed, head off on a day trip to somewhere like Pompeii, or simply enjoy a chance to catch your breath and take in the atmosphere of the city. The Italians believe in taking it easy, so why not chill out at a trattoria with some tasty morsels, a cold beverage, and some good conversation.

This is also the perfect opportunity to explore the city away from the large crowds. Research some favorite locals haunts, or maybe visit the catacombs. Many of our loyal travelers actually prefer to relax and enjoy the atmosphere for the day. It's entirely up to you!

Today we'll head straight to the heart of picturesque Tuscany, famous for its fine wines, great food, and art and architecture. Our first stop is the romantic city of Florence, where your local Italian guide can't wait to show you the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and Santa Croce Basilica, as well as many other works of art - the street sculptures are amazing!

If you have time after the tour, why not visit Michelangelos masterpiece David at Galleria dell'Accademia, or wander along the river? Check out the world famous leather markets if you have time! Time to wind down and give yourself a break from the buzz and noise of the big cities.

Tonight we'll head to our accommodations in the beautiful Tuscan hills, where the soft afternoon light radiates across the land. Is it any wonder this region attracts and inspires so many famous artists?

We'll depart Montecatini Terme in search of stunning coastlines, the rich and famous, and a holiday spirit. Before we cross the border into the French Riviera we'll spend some time visiting one of the most iconic landmarks of Italy: the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the neighboring cathedral, cemetery and baptistery.

After a scenic drive through the Italian countryside, we'll cross the border into the French Riviera, one of the most picturesque coastlines in the world, where the Mediterranean Sea laps the shore, and holiday season is a year round affair. After dinner, why not head into town and join the locals at one of the many bars and restaurants?

Today, do whatever your heart desires! As the saying goes 'It's always nice in Nice,' and now is your chance to find out why. Keep your eyes open for celebs and stars while you're enjoying the sights!

You'll also be given the option to visit Monaco at your own expense. If you choose to come with us, you'll be taken on a scenic coastal drive, and have the rest of the day to explore Monte Carlo. The city offers stunning views over an enormous private harbor, where super yachts and ships come to rest. The Grand Casino is particularly spectacular, and the castle district boasts beautifully preserved architecture and views of the coast and city.

In the evening, why not chill out in Old Town Nice where the restaurants serve tasty French cuisine and wonderfully fresh seafood.

French Riviera - Arles - Barcelona

Time to brush up on your Spanish greetings - you'll need them this afternoon! We'll depart Nice and get back on the road toward Barcelona, making a stop in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Arles, famous for its historical buildings and links to such artists as Van Gogh. Don't forget to check out the colorful houses and Roman Amphitheatre. Get ready to explore the cosmopolitan metropolis Barcelona.

Your tour leader will acquaint you with this vibrant city on a coach tour, after which you will know when and where to start exploring on your own. Keep your eyes open for the famous Sagrada Familia, as well as Gaudi's other architectural masterpieces.

Then there is the lively La Rambla, a pedestrian walkway down the middle of the city lined with market stalls, cafes, restaurants, and street entertainers. The city comes alive at night, so after dinner, head back into the heart of the action for some music and atmosphere.

The day is yours to do with as you please! The best views of the city can be had from Park Guell, where you can really take in the panoramic splendor of Barcelona. The park itself offers a very interesting design which is a product of Anton Gaudi's architectural visualizations.

Barcelona is home to many of Gaudi's designs; you could spend the whole day visiting his signature buildings. One of his most famous works is the unfinished Sagrada Familia, an interpretation of Gothic unlike any cathedral you have ever seen. We can organize tickets for you to see a traditional Flamenco show at your own expense. The dance of passion is performed with style, flair and energy - an experience not to be missed.

Why not take advantage of the beaches and hit the shores! Ocean tours depart from the harbor and take you for a cruise up the coast for a unique perspective of the city (own expense).

Avignon

Barcelona - Pont du Gard - Avignon

Heading back into France, we'll continue through the French countryside, and get up close and personal with a 2,000 year-old Roman aqueduct: Pont du Gard. Walking along it, you'll there are no nails, cement or mortar holding the arches together. The Pont du Gard has been an attraction for centuries. People are fascinated by its immaculate three-tiered construction, which once carried over 44 million gallons of water a day to the local townships.

Our final stop is Avignon, also known as the City of Popes: an amazingly preserved, fortified city commune with a long history, stunning architecture and major religious significance. Enjoy a walking tour of the city, highlights of which include the Papal Palace as well as other points of interest.

So long, Switzerland!

We'll will depart the Jungfrau region, savoring the last of the Alpine views as you head into Germany. A lunch stop is scheduled for Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. You'll have plenty of time to eat, shop and see Vaduz Castle.

Our next stop is the German capital of Munich! Enjoy a guided walking tour of the city. The evening will then take a lighter, more sociable turn as we dine in a traditional beer hall. Enjoy a local stein on us. Prost!

Munich - Dachau Concentration Camp - Rhine Valley

Today is a contrast of German cities, histories and landscapes. We'll first experience Germany's first concentration camp, operational during the Nazi reign. Opened in 1933 by Heinrich Himmler, Dachau is located 16 km from Munich in a beautiful, medieval township. It was originally intended as a holding place for political prisoners and a prototype for further camps. There were many human atrocities which stain the grounds here.

The museum houses photos and documents of the camp's history from 1933 until its closure in 1945. All displays are represented in an educational, honest way.

By now you may be ready for something a bit lighter. A Rhine River cruise will certainly go a long way to lifting the spirits. The Rhine Valley is one of the most scenic stretches of river in the whole of Europe. We'll board the riverboat, taking in the breathtaking scenery from the deck, cruising into a stunning, Gothic German village.

Paris

Luxembourg also offers excellent shopping opportunities from modern high-end fashion stores to traditional boutiques.

Then it's off the City of Lights, which we'll sight-see from the comfort of our motorcoach.

  • Due to weight and space limitations, you are allowed to bring one main piece of luggage weighing no more than 20kg (app 44.1 lbs) and one small soft bag for hand luggage.
