Summary of The Day: Attention all of you oyster fanatics out there! If you are one of those who can sit at an oyster bar all night and dream about it at night still, then this excursion is for you. In San Francisco's scrumptious neighbor to the north, West Marin, we'll discovered some of the most delicious destinations! Come savor the natural beauty and culinary excellence of this wonderful area with a gourmet guided tour!
We'll meet at Inverness. From here we'll visit visit two famous West Marin oyster farms for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours and experience oyster tastings at three local eateries. On this tour we'll visit the Bovine Bakery to learn about the local history and enjoy fresh pastries; Tomales Bay Oyster Company for a tour and to get a professional shucking lesson; the Marshall Store to try out BBQ oysters, smoke oysters, and much more; Hog Island Oyster Company, located on 160 acres in Tomales Bay where they raise over 3 million Pacific, Kumamoto and Atlantic oysters per year; Nick's Cove to savor three types of grilled oysters; and the sustainable Saltwater Oyster Depot that features an oyster bar, restaurant and wine shop.
