Summary of The Day: Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our safari guide who will then transfer you to your first night's hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the city.
Summary of The Day: After an early morning break we'll depart on a game drive across the savannah, traveling along the Lake Albert Delta and pass an abundant amount of wildlife as the sun rises.
From here we'll enter Murchison Fall National Park and climb to the narrow gorge where the famous Murchison Falls resides, a popular spot for white water rafting in Uganda. Look out for the crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and a variety of birds along the banks.
Then we'll arrive at the lodge for dinner.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll take a morning game drive in an open-top vehicle to the north of the Nile where many of the park's animals gather We suggest wearing a wide brimmed hat, and bringing binoculars and a good camera to capture the amazing wildlife, including giraffes, buffaloes, lion prides, oribi, antelopes and waterbucks.
Then we'll head back to the lodge for a sumptuous lunch.
Afterwards we'll take a 3 hour cruise along the Nile to spot crocodiles, an abundance of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, numerous birds including the fish eagle, storks and so much more.
The boat will move gently up the river and stay on the left hand side so that you see most of the animals who come to the river.
Summary of The Day: After breakfast we'll head to Forst Portal and begin our 4 hour drive towards Kibale Forest National Park, enjoying lunch along the way.
Kibaale Forest national park is popular for its primates, such as chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, red cheeked monkeys and red tailed monkeys, all of which we'll have the chance to see.
We'll then arrive at the camp/guesthouse for dinner.
Summary of The Day: We'll start your day with an early morning chimpanzee tracking through Kibale. Along the chimpanzee trails you can regularly see them swinging from the forest trees and feeding on the local fruit.
The chimps are the prime attractions in this park, despite the presence of other species of primates like red colobus monkeys, the rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black faced vervet monkeys, baboons and also bush babies.
Other animals include forest elephant, buffalo, forest hog, antelopes and other birds.
After viewing the amazing local chimps, we'll enjoy a lunch break and then head for Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Summary of The Day: Early in the morning you will go with a ranger on a game drive through the park, enjoying magnificent views of the plains, valleys, terraced hills and wild animals. Keep your cameras ready to spot reedbucks, bushbucks, kobs, warthogs, elephants, lions, buffaloes and so much more.
Then we'll take a break back at the lodge for lunch before taking a cruise on Kazinga Channel, the water stream that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This lovely area attracts a large abundance of hippos and the giant Nile crocodiles. You'll also get to spot the local birdlife including the shoebill, pelicans, kingfishers, saddle billed stork and sometimes the crowned cranes.
Summary of The Day: After an early morning breakfast, we'll hop back in our vehicle and head to Bwindi National Park, home to the world famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Along the way we'll pass through Ishaha, south of Queen Elizabeth Park, which is famous for its tree climbing lions. We have the option of stopping near Maramagambo Forest for a nature walk in the lush green forest. Look out for the bat caves that house thousands of bats, pythons, lizards and other reptiles.
Then we'll continue to the Bwindi Forest, home to the silverback gorillas which are carefully protected here. The forest is also home to over 300 species of birds, particularly Albertine endemics like the double collared sunbird, Kivu ground thrushes, short tailed warbler and African grey parrots.
We'll arrive at the lodge/camp in the evening for dinner.
Summary of The Day: The entire day is devoted to our gorilla trekking experience, which can range from 2 to 7 hours.
After an early morning breakfast, we'll head to the park’s offices for preliminary briefing where you will be allocated into groups of 8 and given about 2 armed ranger guides to lead you through the thick forest.
Trek through the forest’s thick vegetation hearing creaks and groans of the gorilla and monkeys at a distance. Identify the spoors and trails of the gorillas from their previous night spots and then track them.
Finding the gorillas is quite an anxious feeling, as you have only 1 hour to enjoy the amazing creatures as they feed and play with their little ones. Take pictures of them as your tour guide identifies for you this particular family, its name and usual behavior.
Afterwards, we'll return to the lodge/camp for the rest of the day.
Summary of The Day: After an early morning breakfast, we'll say farewell to Bwindi National Park and set off to Lake Mburo National Park.
We'll pass by the the intensely terraced Kigezi hill slopes and stop in Mbarara for a lunch break, before arriving in the park in the early afternoon. Here we'll kick things off with a cruise on Lake Mburo or a game drive through the park. for a boat ride on the lake or game drive in the park.
The cruise is perfect for spotting the local birdlife such as the African Harrier Hawk, yellow-backed, cormorant fish eagles, spectacled weavers, Levillant, shoe bill stork, heron and more! We'll also get to spot crocodiles and hippos along the shores.
If you choose the game drive we'll get to explore the savannah of Lake Mburo and spot elands, zebras, hyenas, leopards, buffaloes, sitatunga and other mammals.
Then we'll arrive at the lodge/camp for the night.
Summary of The Day: After breakfast you can choose to enjoy one last game drive in Lake Mburo National Park before heading to Kampala. If you have time you can take a city tour before your departure flight from Entebbe.
