This Chicago research university has the largest university press in the United States and was started by a donation from philanthropist John D. Rockefeller in 1890. University of Chicago is affiliated with 89 Nobel Laureates, 49 Rhodes Scholars and nine Fields Medalists. Its 217-acre campus is located along Lake Michigan in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood and has been designated a botanical garden.
