Tangalooma Island Resort is located on the west side of Moreton Island in Queensland, Australia. Established as a town for the whaling industry in 1883, it is now a bustling resort, known for its sand dunes, wreck diving, and dolphin-feeding program. Swimming in the ocean is popular due to the sparkling turquoise water and brilliant white beaches. About 70 minutes from Brisbane by catamaran, Tangalooma was originally a whaling station until humpback whaling was banned in 1963.
