The Crown Jewels, also known as the Honours of Scotland, are on display in the Crown Room of Edinburgh Castle. They include the Scottish gold crown, which was redone by James V in 1540, the Sceptre gifted to James IV by the Pope in 1494, and the three-foot Sword of the State gifted from another Pope in 1507. Together they stand as a symbol of Scotland’s (former) sovereignty. Although the Crown Jewels went missing after the Treaty of the Union in 1707, they were rediscovered in 1818 in the Crown Room and remain there today.
