The structure is built in the Cuban Baroque style, featuring stained glass windows, arches, columns, and limestone walls with marine fossils embedded in the stone. It is home to important National pieces of art and historical artifacts such as La Giradilla, the Cenotaph, and the tomb of French artist Jean Baptist Vermay.
