About NASA's Johnson Space Center

This extraordinary 1,620-acre site allows visitors to watch real astronaut training, touch a moon rock and experience a simulated lift-off. NASA's Johnson Space Center created in 1961 was named in honor of Texas-born United States President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1971 and opened its Space Center Houston Visitor's Center in 1992. Attractions include the Astronaut Space Suit Gallery, Blast-off Theater, Kids Space Place, Lunar Landscape, NASA Tram Tour, International Space Station, Skylab Trainer, Shuttle, The Feel of Space Show and Starship Gallery.
