The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is a Canadian maritime museum located in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. It is the largest and oldest maritime in Canada and exhibits more than 30,000 artifacts. The museum was founded in 1948 and was constantly moved around to different locations until it was constructed into its current location in 1981. The museum also has a collection of more than 30,000 photographs, charts and historical books. One of its most popular exhibits is its permanent exhibit of the RMS Titanic which famously sunk in the northern Atlantic Ocean in 1912. The exhibit has an extensive collection of wooden artifacts rescued from the remains of the RMS Titanic, including one of the few surviving deck chairs.
