This Southern Pennsylvania city is the seat of Lancaster County - Pennsylvania Dutch Country and home to a large Amish population. Lancaster was founded in 1730 and originally called "Hickory Town." It was renamed after the English town of Lancaster and was the capital of Pennsylvania from 1799-1812. Lancaster was home to James Buchanan, Jr., the 15th president of the United States.
