The 4,000-acre Oahu working ranch stretches from the Koolau Mountains to the Pacific Ocean with no shortage of activities offering horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, dining and movie tours. Approximately 622 acres of Kualoa Ranch's land was sold to Dr. Gerritt P. Judd in 1850 by King Kamehameha III with additional property being purchased years later by the doctor's son Charles Hasting Judd. It received its name meaning "long back" in Hawaiian in 1927. Ranch tourist highlights include film sets from movies like "Jurassic Park" and "Godzilla," Secret Island Beach, Ancient Hawaiian Fish Pond and the Kualoa Petting Zoo.
