Discover the Best GE Building Tours

The 850-foot Art Deco building also called 30 Rock and The Slab is in the center of Midtown Manhattan's famous Rockefeller Center and contains offices and NBC television studios. The GE Building that was designed by architect Raymond Hood and finished in 1933 has an observation deck called "Top of the Rock" that is considered to offer the best panoramic view of New York City. Its 65th floor used to house the well-known Rainbow Room restaurant and event venue before it closed in 2009. "Saturday Night Live" is broadcast from the building's Studio 8H and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" is taped at Studio 6B among other NBC shows. GE Building, formerly the RCA Building, is not to be confused with New York City's separate General Electric Building.
