Also known as Barrio Chino, Buenos Aires Chinatown is the center point for Argentina's Chinese community, though it is home to a variety of ethnic groups including Taiwanese, Japanese, and Thai communities. The neighborhood developed in the 1980s as Taiwanese and Chinese immigrants moved to Buenos Aires. It has grown to hold a few Chinese restaurants, grocery stores, and a Buddhist temple.
