About Anchorage Museum

Located in Rasmuson Center in Downtown Anchorage, this 170,000-square-foot museum is the largest in Alaska with more than 25,000 objects, 500,000 photographs, 12,000 publications and 800 maps. Anchorage Museum was opened in 1968 with 60 paintings and 2,500 items on loan to it. Today, it is one of Alaska's top ten visited attractions and welcomes more than 160,000 people per year. It underwent a $106 million expansion in 2010.
