Summary of The Day: This leisurely walkabout around The Rocks uncovers the authentic history of the Aboriginal people’s saltwater heritage within Sydney Harbour, their land and water use, and their spiritual connection to the adjoining waterways and foreshores.
Cadman’s Cottage is the meeting point for the tour. Before the walking country experience begins, the tour group will accept the custom of ochre on hand, which personally acknowledges Earth Mother before we talk about her landscape.
The tour will then see Bligh and Barney Reserve, and follow on to Argyle Cut. Here you’ll see beautiful ochre colors in the sandstone rock.
Walking higher terrain, see seasonal flora connected to Australia’s Dreamtime Identity on Cumberland Walk .Continue walking down to Harbour Bridge and its significant Aboriginal site.
Under the Harbour Bridge at the intriguing Dawes Point, the tour focuses on the meaning of white ochre colour, followed by a visit to Clarke Hickson's Reserve, where the tour comes to an end.
Drawing upon knowledge populated from the oldest ecologists, conservationists, wildlife carers, botanists, astronomers, climatologists and marine biologists on the Earth today, the guides will explain how this ancient wisdom continues to reveal itself within the English settlement of The Rocks; and demonstrate how this place we now know as Sydney continues to weave the Dreamtime text into it’s modern, built up environment.

Excellent tour. Made me more aware of the land and the first people of Sydney and the original geography of this area prior to the concrete development. It made me see Sydney in a different way and in a way I'll now never forget. Thank you?
"We really enjoyed Margret's Dreamtime Aboriginal Tour, and the opportunity to understand the rich history and culture of Australia's indigenous people. Would recommend the tour to others because you gain a better appreciation of a place th...at you visit, when you understand its beginnings." Read full review
Wonderful introduction to Aboriginal culture & beliefs. Everyone should take time out to take this tour
"Margaret our guide gave us a wonderful insight into Aboriginal culture from her own experience as an elder. It was fascinating to hear about the Aborigine's relationship with the earth and the spirituality of her people. This is an easy wa...lk in the Rocks area, and under the Harbour Bridge where Margaret opened our eyes to so much in the natural environment. She is an interesting speaker, humorous, warm and knowledgeable. We have lived here for ten years and took two friends who were visiting Sydney. We all agreed this tour is a must for anyone wanting more than a superficial view of this wonderful city. Thoroughly recommend." Read full review
