Today is free for arrivals, and you're welcome to self-transfer to our start hotel in Edinburgh at anytime. Your guide guide will be waiting for you at the hotel between 2:00pm and 5:00pm to explain the tour's itinerary and details. IF you arrive outside that time please look for an information sheet in the hotel lobby.
Once you and your fellow travelers have checked in, we'll take a guided walking tour of Scotland's capital, learning about its rich history and culture. Did you know that this was where JK Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter novel?
Afterwards, we'll enjoy a welcome dinner to get to know your fellow travelers.
Summary of The Day: Start your tour off with a visit to one of Scotland's most iconic attractions: Edinburgh Castle! We'll take the morning to explore this impressive fortress, discovering its rich military history and role in Scotland's political life.
The rest of the day will be yours to explore on your own. Takea strole down the Royal Mile, join an optional tour (own expense), or relax in a trendy Edinburgh cafe.
This afternoon you can visit the Falkirk Wheel, Kelpies horse sculpture and 15th century Rosslyn Chapel.
This evening there will be an optional Spirit of Scotland dinner and pipe band show.
St Andrews - Pitlochry - Whisky Distillery - Scottish Highlands
Summary of The Day: From Scotland's capital will head out to one of the most lovely regions in the world: the Scottish Highlands!
First up, we'll travel to the city of St Andrews, a university town home to both the University of St Andrews, the third oldest institute of higher learning in the English-speaking world, and the home of gold.
After exploring here we'll journey to Pitlochry for free time and lunch. Take this chance to see the unique salmon ladder, which allows fish to bypass the town's dam.
In the afternoon we’ll enjoy a tasting of Scotland’s most famous export at a whisky distillery, a unique experience not to be missed. Then we'll head to the Queen’s View, wehre we'll enjoy divine views of Loch Tummel and the Scottish Highlands.
We'll end the day at our lovely hotel in the Scottish Highlands and a delicious meal.
Summary of The Day: Get out of the hotel today and explore the rich landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. You can join us for an optional excursion to Loch Ness to spot Nessie as well as visit the Urqhart Castle and Dunrobin Castle (own expense).
Summary of The Day: Prepare yourself as we head to one of the most lovely regions in Scotland with an day tour to the Isle of Skye. As we head to this gem of Scotland we'll stop at Eileen Donan for a photo stop.
Upon setting foot on the island you'll discover why this is such a sought after destination. First, we'll visit Kilt Rock, a sea cliff where we'll enjoy immaculate views of the Scottish coast. From here we'll head to the Old Man of Storr for a photo stop of this impressive and towering rock formation.
On our way to our hotel for the night we'll enter the Ben Nevis region and stop at the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the famous railway bridge that features in the movies Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

This tour will begin at our first night's hotel in Edinburgh. Your tour leader will be at the designated start hotel in Edinburgh between 2:00pm -5:00pm on the first day of the tour. If you arrive outside of these times, please look out for the information sheet in the hotel lobby for more information.
You will be emailed the tour leader's contact details approximately one week prior to departure. Please keep a note of this so you can contact the tour leader on Day 1 of the tour if you have any issues meeting up with the tour.
You can choose to end the tour in Glasgow at 10:00am or Edinburgh at 11:00am. Exact drop off details will be confirmed before the departure of the tour.
Please make sure you bring with you local currency(ies) you will need for at least the first three days, as there may not be an opportunity to change currency at the very beginning of the tour. You should budget for any optional excursions you wish to do in this period and non-included meals.
Travel insurance is compulsory for this tour.
Accommodation is provided in twin share en-suite rooms. We use a mix of mostly 2, 3 and 4-star hotels, and some hostels.
The calendar will show all dates available, however, if you request more travelers than there are seats available, you will not be able to book the tour.

We do walking tours through most of the cities we visit. Many of these cities are vast and old, often with steps and cobblestones. Our walking tours can last up to three hours with plenty of opportunities to take photographs and soak up the history of these fascinating places, but a certain level of fitness is required to enjoy your tour to the fullest.
Due to weight and space limitations, you are allowed to bring one main piece of luggage weighing no more than 20kg (app 44.1 lbs) and one small soft bag for hand luggage. On all tours, you will have to carry your own luggage into hotels (and up to your room if there is no elevator). Please bear this in mind when you are deciding what to pack.
35 days or more before the tour departure day: full deposit is forfeited.
19-34 days before the tour departure day: 50% of total cost is forfeited.
18 days or less before the tour departure day: 100% of total cost is forfeited.
