Summary of The Day: Our tour starts at 8 am. We’ll board the cruiser to Helsinki and arrive just after lunch. We’ll hit the ground running and go on an interesting walk around the center. Tonight is a great chance to get to know your guide and the group with dinner and drinks.
Summary of The Day: Wake up to breakfast in Helsinki. Today is your chance to head out to Suomenlinna and the fabulous fortress of Finland where the Russians seized the town from the Swedes. Alternately, relax the morning away in a Finnish sauna before checking out the quirky art and design scene in Helsinki. This afternoon we’ll board the overnight cruise to Stockholm. Dance at the on-board nightclub, enjoy top shows and restaurants whilst sailing the Baltic sea.
Summary of The Day: This is a beautiful city with saffron colored buildings and cobbled streets surrounded by avenues of blue water. After check-in we'll introduce you to our Viking friends who will illuminate Stockholm’s past and present. On our tour we'll grab a bike and explore the islands, museums and green spaces of Stockholm. In the evening we’ll get a taste of Sweden's funky music scene.
Summary of The Day: Today is yours to explore Stockholm. You can kayak around the archipelago of islands that lie on Stockholm’s doorstep, go for a revitalizing spa visit or take the Stockholm bike tour around the canals and islands of the city. Stockholm is also home to the largest Ikea in the world; a trip to browse the furnishings and eat at the restaurant is a fun inexpensive activity. Tonight we'll check out the music scene in the city.
Summary of The Day: Finish off your Swedish experience with a walk around the busy food markets of Stockholm, or shopping at the large array of second hand stores with funky clothing at great prices. In the early afternoon we'll board the cruise liner to Riga.
Summary of The Day: Riga’s UNESCO listed old town is full of the best eateries in the Baltics. We’ll go on an orientation walk to stretch our legs and take in the town's main sights. The afternoon is yours to delve a little deeper into life in Riga. The central market is one of the largest in Europe with an array of local produce. The freedom monument stands proudly for all to see and of course there's St Peter’s. Tackle some optional activities such as racing down an Olympic Bobsled track in a 4 man bob, or hone your shooting skills at an old Russian shooting range. Tonight we’ll enjoy an exciting evening of Baltic revelry.
Summary of The Day: We begin our last day with a drive to the eerie Hill of Crosses. This unique and captivating sight is a pilgrimage destination for people from all over the world. Then it's on to Trakai castle, the once famous home of the Lithuanian Polish commonwealth. You'll find it hard not to be captivated by this castle; it's both historically fascinating and fairy-tale beautiful. Next we visit Vilnius. On arrival we’ll set off for a walk, taking in Neo-Gothic spires and Baroque brilliance. This evening is our last; we’ll sit back, enjoy good Baltic food, and reminisce about some great moments and places.
Summary of The Day: Our trek finishes after breakfast.
