Summary of The Day: In the morning, we will head to Sequoia National Parks. Sequoia National Parks lies side by side in the southern Sierra Nevada, east of the San Joaquin Valley. The park is famous for its giant sequoia trees that can grow up to 112 meters high, including the General Sherman tree, one of the largest trees on Earth. The General Sherman tree grows in the Giant Forest, which contains five out of the ten largest trees in the world. The Giant Forest is connected by the Generals Highway to Kings Canyon National Park's General Grant Grove, home to the General Grant tree among other giant sequoias. By the evening, we will reach to Carson and stay one night.
Summary of The Day: After the breakfast, we will start our day on speeding along the famous U.S. Highway 101, which runs through teh states of California, Oregon, and Washington. Also known as El Camino Real (The Royal Road), the route follows the old trail which linked the Spanish missions, pueblos, and presidios of California.
The first destination will be the Sea Lion Caves near Florence, OR, where we'll have the chance to see the natural habit of this wonderful marine animals (admission not included). Then, we will head to a miracle of nature - Thor's Well. Sitting on the edge of the Oregon coast, this gaping sinkhole that never seems to fill despite the unbroken stream of sea water that drains into it.
Afterwards we'll arrive in the largest city of Oregon State – Portland.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll depart Portland for the gorgeous Neptune State Park, a fantastic area along the Oregon coast.
Afterwards we'll head to the town of Astoria to visit famous Astoria Column, a historical west coast landmark.
Finally, we'll enter Washington state and visit Tacoma. Here, we'll visit the America's Car Museum, which features one of the largest (and expensive) collection of automobiles in the world. The museum has a 500 car gallery showing cars remarkable for their speed, technology and design, as well as their importance to car culture.
Then we'll arrive in Seattle.
Summary of The Day: The largest city in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle is home a variety of wonderful attractions and activities.
We'll begin today with a trip to Boeing, the largest aircraft manufacturer in the world (admission not included)! At the factory you'll discover the history of aircraft design and see a Dreamlifter, one of the largest aircrafts in the world. This massive cargo plane is used exclusively for transporting Boeing airplane parts and is one of four in the world. While here professional Boeing employee will guide you through the assembly process of the Boeing 7-series.
Next, we will go to the 100 year old Park Place Market, beginning as a small farmer's market and expanding into a massive market of 120 vendors, including the very first Starbucks, as well as street performers.
After strolling around the market, we will head to Space Needle, the iconic observation tower of Seattle (admission not included). Built for the 1962 World's Fair, it drew over 2.3 million visitors and is visible from every single corner of Seattle. At the top of the tower you'll have teh chance to gaze through a telescope to see amazing views of the city, Puget Sound, and Mt. Rainier.You can also surprise yourself by experiencing the most advanced hologram technology at the Space Needle.
We'll also visit the EMP Museum (admission not included) Built by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and designed by Avant grade designer Frank Gehry, EMP is located at the foot of the Space Needle and its colorful appearance is made up by 3000 pieces of metal. Here you can see the amazing exhibits on music, science fiction, and pop culture.
Finally, we will visit the Pioneer Square, one of the sites on the United States' National Register of Historic Places.
Summary of The Day: In the morning we'll travel to the "City of Roses," Portland.
Afterwards we'll travel to the Columbia River Gorge. Columbia, which runs for 1000 miles along the border of 2 states, Oregon and Washington. The magnificent view of the valley includes Multnomah, a famous 620 feet falls.
For our evening accommodations we'll stay in Klamath.
Summary of The Day: We'll begin today with a journey to Crater Lake National Park (admission not included). The lake formed after the collapse of Mount Mazama - an ancient volcano that erupted approximately 7,700 years ago - and is 6 miles long and width is 4 miles with a depth of 1932 feet.
Then, we will visit Lake Shasta Caverns (admission not included). The Lake Shasta Caverns at the northern tip of California are made entirely of limestone and boast every type of cavern rock formation available, including stalactites, stalagmites, and the unique formation called "soda straws." Here you'll be able to explore this amazing underground world.
On the way to Santa Rosa, we will pass a major landmark of North California - Sundial Glass Bridge. The deck of bridge is made up of 200 tons of glass and granite and is supported by more than 4,300 feet of cable, making guests feel like they're walking on air.
We'll spend the night in Santa Rosa.
Summary of The Day: Today, we will arrive at San Francisco, one of the most popular cities in America. Here, we will travel around several famous attractions, including: Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Palace of Fine Art, San Francisco Bay, and Union Square. We'll end the tour in San Francisco's Chinatown.
You may also join an optional San Francisco Bay Cruise to see Alcatraz and Angel Island (own expense, subject to availability).
