Summary of The Day: Operating for 70 years and still going strong, the Golden Gate Bay Cruise is the ultimate highlight of any visit to San Francisco. Cruise along San Francisco's breathtaking waterfront, go under the majestic Golden Gate Bridge and circle the storied Alcatraz Island. We are the only bay cruise in San Francisco to offer audio guides in 12 different languages
We will embark on our tour at Pier 43 1/2 at Fisherman's Wharf, sailing past the San Francisco skyline, the lively neighborhood of North Beach, Aquatic Park Historic District, Hyde Street Pier, the San Francisco Maritime National Park and the legendary vessels docked there.
As we head west towards the Golden Gate Bridge, we will come to Fort Mason and the Marina District, then Crissy Field and the lush hillsides of the Presidio, which are now part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Avail yourself of the incredible photo opportunities directly under the massive 4,200-foot span of the Golden Gate Bridge.
As we head back into San Francisco Bay, we will pass the Marin Headlands and the legendary town of Sausalito, former enclave of the 1960's flower generation. With Angel Island State Park to our left, we'll do a slow circle around the infamous Alcatraz Island. The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and Coit Tower will come into view as we cruise into Fisherman's Wharf.
While onboard, take advantage of the full bar stocked with drinks, snacks and merchandise. After a full hour of sightseeing, you will be welcomed back by the barking sea lions at Pier 39. Back on dry land you will be in close proximity to two National Historic Landmarks: the WWII submarine USS Pampanito and the merchant vessel SS Jeremiah O'Brien.
