Reservations: Quick and easy. Customer Service: It was a nightmare trying to find the vehicle at Quality Inn. No clear instructions given. The lady initially gave me a wrong tour guide number. After repeated calls, finally she told me to l..ook out for a bus with some Chinese characters. Luckily I understood Chinese. Accommodation: It was very shabby at Yellowstone. The rest were decent. Transportation: Bus was comfortable. Driver was friendly. Tour Guide: Knowledgeable and friendly, although he tend to plan the meal stops specifically to cater to Mainland Chinese pax. Should have made stops at places with fast food joints, which was what I experienced with other tour operators previously in US and Canada. Tour Itinerary: Very well planned. Included all the key places-of-interest. Thumbs up. Read full review
We were no allowed to use the bathroom in the bus. We did stop for the bathroom use every two or three hours but I took the tour with the understanding that there was a bathroom on the buse we could use
Dobrze zorganizowana, dużo atrakcji, tylko mał czasu na podziwianie atrakcji. Hotele mogą być, czyste. Sniadania bez rewelacji lub nie było. Ogólnie ok.
The itinerary was good. We covered many places and were able to get off the bus to take pictures instead of just passing by. The down side of the tour is more of the other tourists you are with and the tour guide we had. I read and was awar..e that this is a bi-lingual tour. Let me start with the guide we had. He is nice and can see that sometimes he is frustrated. It is not easy to handle so many people who do not have the concept of inside voice, falling in line and not hoarding a dozen of hard boiled eggs during breakfast so you have enough for lunch later. The tour guide we had speaks more of Chinese than english. Basically 90% in chinese and 10% in english. If ever he realized he needs to speak in english, he would start a few words or a short sentence in english then continue in chinese. I speak very little chinese but there were a few non chinese speaking in the tour as well. I brought this up to the guide and he did try but it did not improve much. Force of habit maybe. I realized that he talks a lot about comparing US to China (in Chinese) which is good for them but the non chinese speaking people did not understand that. Maybe he felt it is not necessary for the non chinese to understand. We would appreciate a bit of comparison and history too. Due to cultural differences, the guide needs to constantly announce a reminder of speaking softly, falling in line and getting food just enough for your own breakfast consumption. The food - 2 or 3 hotels we stayed in served complimentary breakfast. We only had 30 minutes to fall in line and eat. So imagine the mad rush. It is hard for the small hotels to keep with with 50 people. Not to mention again that there were a few who would get more than what they can eat. You pay for your own meal (this is explained on the site and we are aware). For most lunch stop overs they will bring you to a chinese restaurant. You have an option to join them or not. But remember you are on a time constraint. The bus - the bus is nice and clean. You are discouraged to use the toilet which is understandable since this was a long drive and the driver do not have time to clean it. He needs the time to rest instead so we could be safe and arrive on time. They do rest stops at least every 2 hours or so. The toilet can still be used for emergency. The bus have adjustable height foot rest and USB plug ins. However no cup / water bottle holder or pocket behind the chair. Bus driver - we had 2 drivers. The first one was just to pick up passengers from different hotels and later transfer to a different bus to start the tour. We were picked-up from LA. On one of the stops, while we were just in the bus waiting for other passengers to get on. The first tour guide got off the bus, about 7 minutes or so another tour guide came, who ended up being our main guide. After making some announcements, he said if we need to go to the bathroom we need to use the hotel bathroom. So I ran down together with some passengers and joined the long line in the bathroom. I happened to be the last in line and when I got in the bus the driver scolded me in chinese saying they were ready to go and just waiting for me. I did not hesitate but to answer back. Was it my fault that they did not announce it as soon as we got there?! The tour guide did apologize to me and scolded the driver to just shut up. That driver couldn’t care less and no customer service at all. Did not assist anyone on the luggages. NADA! Our second driver (thank goodness) who drove the entire 5 day tour was nice and helpful and a save driver. The other passengers- this I understand the tour company can not control. However as mentioned earlier they know who their passengers are and should have done more to make other passengers enjoy the tour. The sites - we are very happy with what the tour covered. Just wish the guide is spoken in english more. Read full review
Places of interest on the itinerary were really captivating. The guide knew his stuff well and was able to introduce the attractions to us appropriately and in a well-paced manner. Two problems to highlight though: 1. The accommodation on.. the first night at St. George - Hotel Zion Inn - was sub-par. It's like a one-star make-shift motel. I have joined many of such local tours in the US and this was the first time I encountered such bizarre accommodation! The same happened again on the third night at West Yellowstone, although the guide did explain that accommodation at Yellowstone are generally more expensive than elsewhere in US. Again, the hotel - Yellowstone Country Inn - was sub-standard. 2. Due to the large number of Mainland Chinese joining the tour, the places that the tour guide brought us to for our meals were all very ''Chinese'' in nature. There were no other options given to us. Previously when I joined other local tours in the US, meal stops were always at those rest areas with multiple fast-food restaurants. I personally think that is better than the ''Chinese buffet'' that we stopped at in this tour. Read full review
