Summary of The Day: On this tour, take a drive through historical Georgetown visiting amongst others, the prominent buildings of colonial era that are now under UNESCO’s recognition site. Stop at Fort Cornwallis, which once belonged to the English East India Co., where Captain Francis Light landed in 1786.
Next, visit the State Museum, built in 1821, which showcases a fine collection of antiques and other historical relics reflecting Penang’s culture and heritage throughout the years.
Enjoy an authentic trishaw ride through the heart of Georgetown and be fascinated by its charm, from old colonial architectures, to the modern skyscrapers of bustling Chinatown, and colorful Little India.
We will also stop at one of the most magnificent clan houses, Khoo Kongsi. This building features intricate carvings and wood work bearing the mark of master craftsmen from China. Lastly, visit the majestically Thai Buddhist Temple, Wat Chayamangkalaram, which houses one of the largest Reclining Buddha in the world.
