The neoclassical building was once a former hospital facility operated by Philip II in the 16th century. Declared a historical-artistic monument in 1977, the site was closed but later restored in 1980 to its current state; Reina Sofia Museum. The expansion continued and the exposure only grew. This museum is now a world-famous tourist spot in Madrid that attracts each year for its impressive paintings, sculptures, handicrafts and whimsical aura. You will be able to see fantastic works such as `El Guernica´ by Picasso or `Caracol, Mujer. Flor, Estrella‘ by Joan Miró.
