Cancun - Chichen Itza - Merida
Summary of The Day: After meeting your guide at the departure hotel in the morning, we'll head inland to begin your Mexico adventure with one of the most popular destinations in the country: Chichen Itza, one of the best preserved of all the archaeological sites in Mexico and an incredible start to your Mexican odyssey. Here we'll view El Castillo pyramid and take a glimpse into the Maya past as you learn about the Great Ball Court and its bloody history.
From here we'll journey to one of the rich cultural cities of Mexico, the beautiful Merida, the capital of the Yucatan. Explore the many shops and museums of this charming city, hang out in the Zocalo (Main Square) and eat local Yucatecan food such as Cochinita Pibil (slow-roasted marinated pork). Head out and mingle with descendants of the Maya whose culture is laced with Spanish influence.
- It is possible that you will overnight in Itzamal during busy periods.

Merida - Uxmal - Campeche
Summary of The Day: Say farewell to Merida as we continue along the coast to the UNESCO ruins of Uxmal, home to intricately carved temple facades that pay homage to Chac, the Mayan rain god. The Uxmal archaeological site is a wonderful balance of jungle and wide open spaces and is an absolute gem, with fewer travelers than other ruins in Mexico.
Next, we'll head to the city of Campeche, the only coastal walled city in the 'New World,' and explore the remnants of its colorful past. Why not start your visit with a walk along the Malecon, a path along the sea facing the sparkling Gulf of Mexico? On your walk you'll find rusty cannons which once defended the city, see some of the old colonial buildings and have the opportunity to try one of Campeche's many seafood specialties caught directly from the surrounding seas - perfect!

Campeche - Palenque
Summary of The Day: Today we'll continue down the ancient Mayan trade route to the ruins of Palenque. See temples lost in the jungle for hundreds of years and marvel at the magnificent pyramid known as the Temple of the Inscriptions. Take a guided jungle tour to learn about this unique ecosystem, its rare plant life, tropical birds and animals. After such an adventurous day, we'll visit the Misol Ha waterfall and cool off with a heavy misting from the pounding water.

Palenque - Bacalar
Summary of The Day: Today we'll cross the Yucatan peninsula for a night on the shores of the beautiful 'Lagoon of Seven Colours' at Bacalar. Enjoy an included scenic cruise to take in the views, before a refreshing swim in the Cenote Azul (blue pool). Laguna Bacalar is one of the most unique freshwater lakes on earth, with its varying shades of turquoise and blue.

Bacalar - Mahahual
Summary of The Day: From Bacalar we'll head to Mahahual on Mexico's Caribbean Coast, a small but popular, up-and-coming beach town. Mahahual boasts white powdery beaches, great bars and a great atmosphere, but it's still a little out of the way, so has not been hit by big commercial development.
Nearby is Banco Chinchorro, Mexico's largest coral atoll and underwater paradise. Take to the water, swim around and check out the sea life. The warm coastal breezes make for hot days and even hotter nights dancing at the many bars and beach clubs.

Mahahual - Tulum - Playa del Carmen
Summary of The Day: En route to Playa del Carmen, we'll explore the coastal ruins of Tulum, the only Mayan city built by the coast, before continuing to the idyllic beach resort of Playa del Carmen.
Enjoy some downtime in one of the trendiest places on the Yucatan peninsula, or depending on the time of season you could take a boat trip to see whale sharks. Make the most of the warm nights and dance the night away in the many bars and beach clubs. For something a little more relaxing, find a quiet bar and watch a fire dance show or just enjoy a refreshing drink with your group.

It was amazing we saw loads of incredible sites. Our guide Dalai was really knowledgeable about not only the sites we went to but also Mexico in general. He worked so hard to try and make sure everyone was having fun. The day activities tha...t were organised for us were great - especially if you love water. We had a slight alteration due to safety concerns in San cristobel but it was good to know they put our safety first. Read full review

" am writing this as I Wait to leave for the airport, so sad to say goodbye to Mexico. I had a great time and that was partly down to the great group of people itravelled with but mainly our amazing guide fernando, he couldn't help enough a...nd was always enthusiastic and making sure we were all having a great time. sadly we were he's last group but the guide replacing him is also lovely, moises was on the trip being trained and he was so helpful and kind, anyone who gets him as a guide will not be disappointed :) Loved all the ruins and waterfalls!" "Great concept , good itinerary , excellent use of the time available. Accommodation better then expected , safe travel. Mexico is safe ( parts we visited )and locals are superfriendly. Tour guide ok but lacking in breadth of knowledge and ...professionalism and quite possibly a passion for the job! The local guides at areas of interest were on par with expectation" Read full review
ScaredyCat04/06/2015One of the most incredible things I've ever done!
"Where do I even start? As you can tell from my username I was a bit nervous about travelling on my own but I wouldn't swap the experience for the world now. We had an amazing group and our tour leader Fernando was incredible - well-organis...ed, knowledgeable and lots of fun. There are so many experiences that I can take from this Trek - ziplining, snorkelling with turtles and stingrays, the Temazcal, seeing monkeys in the wild... I could go on and on and on. The tour is a good mix of culture, wildlife and beaches to relax, and we learnt so many little things about Mexico too because you do get off the mega-touristy trail. We were deterred by a protest on the road to San Cristobal but Fernando and the tour group quickly arranged an alternative and we weren't left without anything to do - in fact, some really great experiences came out of the change (we saw crocodiles/went to some beautiful waterfalls etc). I just wish it had been longer and I've been pining for Mexico ever since I got back!" Read full review
RobH04/03/2015Best trip away I have ever had by far.
Easily the best trip away I have ever had. The trek is a mixture of sightseeing, adventure activities and city visits, with enough lounging in the sun and partying to keep anyone happy. Our guide, Fernando quickly became more of a friend th...an just a tour guide and when unforseen circumstances meant that the itinerary had to change (no fault of the tour operator or guide) alternative activities and accomodation were quickly arranged so that everything continued smoothly. Nearly everything about the trek was top notch, The scenery, the food, the activities, the stunning Mayan sites, all fantastic. if this tour has any downside it is that it does not last long enough.
