Summary of The Day: We'll begin our tour by heading north to Stirling and the towering Wallace Monument with stunning views of the castle. We'll enter the Highlands heading through wild Rannoch Moor and Glencoe and on to the fishing port of Oban.
Summary of The Day: Take the steam train (optional) from Fort William crossing the viaduct featured in the Harry Potter movies or travel the equally impressive "Road to the Isles." We'll take the ferry to Skye where we can explore Armadale Castle & Gardens, former home of the MacDonalds, before driving north to our overnight destination.
Summary of The Day: We explore more of the mysterious island full of awe-inspiring mountains, myths and legends before returning to the mainland to view Eilean Donan Castle. Later on, we'll wind our way along the Great Glen toward Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.
Summary of The Day: Today is all about the stunning beauty of the north west Highlands. We explore the beautiful town of Beauly with its Priory dating back to 1230. Then it's into the rugged and isolated mountains that secure Scotland's place as one of the last great wildernesses of Europe.
Summary of The Day: This morning, you can hunt for the elusive monster on an optional cruise on Loch Ness at an additional cost. We'll then explore Culloden Battlefield, scene of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s defeat back in 1746 and featured in the TV series "Outlander."
We'll then continue on to try the "water of life" at Tomatin Whisky Distillery (optional at an additional cost). We'll head south to Dunkeld with its mighty cathedral before our return to Edinburgh.
The tour ends at approximately 5:00 p.m. at 60 High Street, Edinburgh.
