Itinerary
Day 01
Dublin

Dublin

Hotel: Travelodge Phoenix Park or similar

Welcome to Ireland and the start of your tour! Depending on when you arrive, you may have a chance to see a bit of the city.

After you meet up with your tour leader and fellow travelers, you can do a spot of sightseeing or just relax. It's up to you! Big enough to keep one amused, but small enough to cover in a relatively short time, Dublin boasts an extraordinary history, a rich cultural heritage, and a touch of indulgence. Enjoy!

Tonight at the welcome dinner you'll have a chance to get to know your fellow travelers and learn more about our exciting program.

Tips:
Before planning your trip, you may want to check visa requirements for Ireland.

Your tour leader will be at Travelodge Dublin Phoenix Park Hotel between 2:00pm and 5:00pm on the first day of the tour. If you arrive outside of these hours, please look out for the information sheet in the hotel lobby.

Dinner on Day 1 is included.

Day 02
Derry

Dublin - Belfast - Giant's Causeway - Derry

Hotel: Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel / The Everglades Hotel or similar

Once we're on our way, your tour leader will give you an introduction to the history of Ireland. As we're headed into Northern Ireland, it's particularly important to learn about the Rising, Civil War and the Fight for Independence, as well as the Troubles. Although peaceful now, this is an important part of Ireland's history, particularly the north.

We'll stop first in the famous city of Belfast, where we'll take an orientation tour. Having redefined itself in recent years, the city is constantly in flux. Whether you're checking out the Victorian architecture, strolling along the vibrant waterfront, or exploring Victoria Square, you're in for an eye-opening experience. After some free time we'll head to Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge for a photo stop, followed by Giant's Causeway, an incredible rock formation consisting of around 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. Our last stop for the day is the riverside city of Londonderry / Derry, where we'll retire for the evening.

Tips:
Breakfast and dinner are included.
Day 03
Galway

Derry - Galway

Hotel: Falls Hotel & Spa Clare / Imperial Hotel Galway / Breafy House Resort Mayo / Hotel Ballinna / The Creggan Court Hotel / Knock House Hotel or similar

Heading out of Derry, we'll join up with the famous Wild Atlantic Way, the longest coastal drive in the world, and probably the most scenic too! We'll arrive in Galway in the early afternoon.

Enjoy some free time in this arty, bohemian city which boasts a vibrant ambiance thanks to its large student population. With students making up a quarter of the population, you'll find plenty of bars and cafes, some with live music. Check out the remnants of the medieval town walls, or take a stroll down the promenade to Salthill on Galway Bay, source of the oysters for which the region is famous.

Tips:
Breakfast is included.

Day 04
Wild Atlantic Way

Galway - Cliffs of Moher - Killarney

Hotel: Holiday Inn Killarney / The Rose Hotel / The Lake Hotel Killarney / The Ashe Hotel Tralee / Holiday Inn Killarney / Sneem Hotel or similar

First up today, one of the highlights of the tour: the world-famous Cliffs of Moher, a natural wonder rising over 200 meters above the churning sea. Then we'll drive to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.

The present version of Bunratty Castle was erected in the early 1400s, though several constructions preceded it, dating back to the 10th century. Adjoining the castle is Folk Park, a reconstructed Irish village replete with cottages, weavers, piemakers, a forge, and a working blacksmith.

We'll stop for lunch in Limerick, with its fascinating castle, traditional pubs, art museum and a thriving café culture. We'll also stop off in Adare for photos. You'll marvel at what's often called Ireland’s prettiest village. Catch a glimpse of the perfectly-preserved thatch cottages, today home to craft shops and restaurants.

Tips:
Breakfast and dinner are included.
Day 05
Killarney

Killarney - Ring of Kerry - Killarney

Hotel: Holiday Inn Killarney / The Rose Hotel / The Lake Hotel Killarney / The Ashe Hotel Tralee / Holiday Inn Killarney / Sneem Hotel or similar

Keep your camera ready because it's going to be a day full of stunning scenery! The famous Ring of Kerry - home to breathtaking coastal views, emerald-green pastures and charming villages including Caherciveen and Kenmare - is our stomping ground on Day 5.

Take the opportunity to amble down the high street of Kenmare and try the culinary treats on offer from the cute cafes, bars, and restaurants. Muckross House & Gardens is a stunning Victorian mansion in the heart of Killarney National Park. You'll be given the option of entering this stunning house to admire the decor and the horticulture (own expense).

Tips:
Breakfast is included.

Day 06
Dublin

Killarney - Dublin

Hotel: Travelodge Phoenix Park or similar

Journeying back to Dublin and leaving the Wild Atlantic Way, we'll stop at Blarney Castle, where you'll have the chance to kiss the famous Blarney Stone and gain the 'gift of the gab.'

We'll make a stop in Waterford, Ireland's oldest city, where the atmosphere and feel of medieval Ireland is unmistakable. Arriving back in Dublin, celebrate the last night of your tour with an optional evening of Irish music, including dinner and a show at the Merry Ploughboy Irish Music Pub, winner of the Best Music Pub in Ireland. Located in the Irish countryside, this is an authentic experience, held in a pub run by traditional musicians specializing in all aspects of Irish Music and Dance (own expense).

Tips:
Breakfast is included.
Day 07
