Day 01
Reykjavik

Welcome to the land of ice and fire! Today you'll arrive in Iceland and self-transfer from the airport to your Reykjavik hotel on your own (airport transfer not included).

Tips:
Earliest check-in time is 2:00pm. Please book your flight accordingly.

Day 02
Vik i Mydral

The Great Geysir - Gullfoss - Skogar - Dyrholaey - Vik

Hotel: Hotel Edda Vík / Hotel Icelandair Vík or similar

We'll start the day with a short city sightseeing of Reykjavik. From Reykjavik we'll head through the village of Hveragerdi to explore Gullfoss, the "Golden Waterfall," and the nearby Geysir hot spring area to see the famous Great Geysir and Strokkur, as well as numerous other hot springs and boiling mud pools.

Then we'll continue along the south shore and stop to admire the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss before continuing to Dyrholaey* nature reserve.

We'll spend the evening in Vik.

Dinner is included on this day.

Tips:
Dyrholaey nature reserve is closed during nesting season in spring (mid-May to June 23).
Day 03
Kirkjubaejarklaustur

Vik - Skaftafell National Park - Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon - Hofn

Hotel: Hotel Höfn or similar

We'll begin today by crossing Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow on the face of the earth, before reaching the small town Kirkjubaejarklaustur, a former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent. From here we'll continue over the sands of Skeidararsandur to Skaftafell National Park.

Here we'll see the stunning Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon, the birthplace of icebergs. Throughout the day we are afforded magnificent views of the mighty Vatnajokull Glacier.

Dinner is included on this day.

Day 04
Egilsstadir

Hofn - East Fjords - Egilsstadir

Hotel: Icelandair Hotel Herad or similar

Today we'll drive from Hofn through Almannaskard pass, stop and admire the majestic coastline.

We'll travel to the towering mountains plunging vertically into the sea that form the magnificent East Fjords and explore Petra's renowned collection of local stones and minerals.

Dinner is included on this day.

Day 05
Myvatn Lake

Lake Myvatn

Hotel: Selhotel Mývatn / Laxá or similar

We'll explore the empty vastness of the highland desert plateau Modrudalsoraefi, heading to the Lake Myvatn area. On the way, we'll a stop at Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall.

We'll continue onwards to Namaskard pass with its boiling mud pools and vibrant colors and witness the natural beauty of the Lake Myvatn area, including the pseudo craters at Skutustadir and Laxa salmonriver. One of Myvatn area's claims to fame is that it is home to more species of ducks than any other place on Earth, with very diverse birdlife in general.

Dinner is included on this day and accommodations will be in the Myvatn area..

Day 06
Akureyri

Lake Myvatn - Akureyri

Hotel: Hotel KEA / Icelandair Hotel Akureyri / Hótel Akureyri or similar

We'll start the day by exploring the peculiar lava formations at Dimmuborgir.

Then we'll continue to the bustling bustling northern port of Akureyri making a stop at the magnificent Godafoss waterfall and the old turf farm Laufas. Akureyri has some of the finest timber buildings in the country, beautifully restored to their original glory.

Day 07
Borgarnes

Skagafjordur - Borgarnes

Hotel: Hotel Hamar / Hótel Borgarnes or similar

Majestic mountains and narrow passes will lead us to Skagafjordur for an introduction of the unique Icelandic horse that has a special fifth gait - the tolt.

Then we'll travel to the village of Blonduos, which is built on both sides of the river Blanda. Here, the Hrutey Island acts as a protected nature reserve beside this popular salmon river. We'll cross the Holtavorduheidi plateau through Borgarfjordur to the beautiful town of Borgarnes.

Reykjavik

Borgarnes - Thingvellir - Reykjavik

We'll driveto Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in the world, and then stop to admire the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfalls, before continuing via Hvalfjordur fjord to Lake Thingvallavatn, Iceland's largest lake, and Thingvellir National Park, the ancient site of the world's first parliament.

Day 09
Reykjavik

Reykjavik

Today our wonderful Iceland tour comes to an end. Please speak to the reception desk at your hotel for help with transferring to the airport (airport transfer not included).

  • Cancellation Policy
    - 30 or more days prior to tour departure date: 10% of booking price is charged
    - 22-29 days prior to tour departure date: 25% of booking price is charged
    - 21-8 days prior to tour departure date: 50% of booking price is charged
    - 7 days prior to tour departure date: non-refundable
  • Layered clothing is essential for all seasons in Iceland. Lightweight woolens, rain and windproof jacket and trousers, and good walking/hiking shoes are essential if you plan to do any hiking or other outdoor activities.
  • When traveling to Iceland in winter you should bring along a warm overcoat, hat, scarf, gloves, socks (preferably made of wool), as well a sweater and/or cardigan, and weatherproof shoes. Long thermal underwear (a shirt and pants), and a layer of fleece on top are also recommended.
  • This tour/activity is overseen by a select local operator in the region. Upon booking your tour or activity and after receiving confirmation, you will be issued an e-ticket detailing the local operator's name and contact information. If you require assistance finding a specific tour, please contact us for more information.

* Prices for Single Occupancy apply when one person stays in one standard hotel room.
* Prices for Double Occupancy apply when two people stay in one standard hotel room.

    1.Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a Receipt of Reservation via email.
    2. Within one to two business days of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email from us. If you need to book an airline ticket, we recommend that you do so after you receive a confirmation of your tour reservation from us.
    3. An E-Ticket will be sent to you via email as soon as details of your reservation are confirmed or your supporting information is received by us. We will provide you with all detailed information about your tour on the E-Ticket. Contact information for local tour provider will be included on E-Ticket for your convenience or re-confirmation purpose if re-confirmation is required.
    4. Simply print your E-Ticket and present it with your valid photo ID on the day of your activity to your tour guide. Please remember E-Ticket is your proof of purchase.
