This concrete marvel spanning the Colorado River in Black Canyon was built between 1931-36 and originally called the Boulder Dam until it was renamed in 1947 after United States President Herbert Hoover, who played an important role in getting it constructed. Hoover Dam extending from the states of Arizona and Nevada is one of the largest man-made structures in the world at 1,244 feet long and 726 feet high. Very organized for a 2 day tour. The itinerary was clear: day 1 drive to Grand Canyon, sunset at Yavapai Point, overnight in Tusayan. Day 2 sunrise at Mather Point, walk the Village historic district, then drive back to Las Vegas via Hoover Dam. The driver let us take photos at the dam. The hotel had free coffee 24 hours. Good.

Booking online was easy. Customer service told me to bring a headlamp and warm layers. The drive from Las Vegas took 4.5 hours with one rest stop. We camped inside the park, which saved us the 30 minute drive from Tusayan. The sunrise at Yavapai Point was incredible - the canyon lit up from the bottom first. The guide made coffee and oatmeal for breakfast. Highly recommend this tour.

Amazing tour with fantastic tour guide
The tour was amazing. Mike was very knowledgeable and well spoken. He was very fun to talk to. He shared a lot of historical facts about Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, and other places we visited in this two day tour. The tour was very well planned and well organized overall in terms of time, logistics, and was a very smooth experience! Hats off to Mike for making us comfortable throughout and being flexible to accommodate our requests in the extreme heat a few times! We would definitely recommend this tour from Blindstiff and especially Mike as the tour guide!

This tour was very well-organized and informative
The pickup from our hotel was efficient, and the ride to the Hoover Dam was enjoyable with the guide's commentary. The Powerplant Tour was impressive, and descending into the Black Canyon was a unique experience. The walk over the top of the dam offered stunning views, and the photo stop at the bypass bridge was great for getting memorable shots. The only minor downside was that the lunch stop was a bit rushed, but overall, it was a fantastic way to see the Hoover Dam and learn about its history.
