Half-Day Barcelona Sightseeing Tour: Montjuic | Spanish Village | Gothic Quarter

Half-day excursion around Barcelona that will allow you to discover the history of the city while visiting some of the most important places in a comfortable and easy way.

The first part of the visit consists of a guided walking tour through the small and narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of the city. During this early visit, we will see Las Ramblas, the Cathedral Square, The Cathedral, the Old Jewish Quarter, among other interesting places. You will be given some free time to visit the Cathedral by yourself.  

Later we will take you on a sightseeing tour from the bus that will run through the elegant Passeig de Gràcia, where you will see the most famous Gaudi houses, casa Batlló and La casa Mila (La Pedrera) as well as other majestic buildings of the Modernism era. We will drive to the sea where you will be able to admire the intense changes the city underwent with the organization of the Olympic Games in 1992. From the bus, you will see the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, the beach and the fisherman’s quarter, called Barceloneta, the Port Vell, Plaza (square) de Colon with its famous Columbus Monument, indicating which way he sailed to discover the Americas. This point is also the beginning of the famous Ramblas of Barcelona. We will continue the visit driving up Montjuïc Mountain.

This mountain was the main scenery of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. We will see the Olympic stadium from the bus and later we will have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the city riding the cable car (subject to the weather conditions). Afterward, we will visit the Montjuïc Castle. Its origins date back to 1640, being the oldest fortress in the city. During the centuries has been a watcher tower, dungeon, execution center and, above all, an ideal viewpoint to know what’s going on from a bird’s eye view. Today, it is an incomparable landscape to enjoy a 360º panoramic picture of Barcelona and being part of the numerous social, civil and cultural events taking place here. Take a trip to Barcelona's hectic past and enjoy the most privileged views of the city.

Back to the bus, the group will be divided according to the chosen option of the tour. People who bought Highlights with entrance to Poble Espanyol (Spanish villages) will be drop off there to enjoy the visit (and also lunch if option selected). The rest of the group will continue the way on the bus back to the city center. We will drive through Espanya square, where we will admire the magical fountains, the twin Venetian Towers, the MNAC and the Shopping center Las Arenas, build in an old bullring. We will arrive at Catalunya square, and we will end up the tour in front of Hard Rock Café, just five minutes walking distance from the departure point.

- A starter to be chosen: Spinach "canelones" with pinions / Salad with crudités. / Andalusian "gazpacho" cream.
- A main course to be chosen: Grilled chicken and side dish. / Grilled bass and side dish. / Grilled catalán sausage with white beans.
- Dessert: Crema catalana.
- Bread with tomato and a glass of wine and mineral water per person.
