Day 1 - Arrive in San Francisco. Welcome to San Francisco! Spend time relaxing or sightseeing today before meeting your traveling companions at 6 pm for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.
Day 2 - San Francisco. Enjoy morning sightseeing in one of the world's most beautiful cities. See [FP] Golden Gate National Recreation Area, including the Golden Gate Bridge and the Presidio. Also see Twin Peaks, Fisherman's Wharf, and much more. During your free time this afternoon and evening, you may want to visit bustling Chinatown, one of the largest outside China; stroll San Francisco's "crookedest" road, Lombard Street; or take a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge. Your Tour Director is available to offer you suggestions for additional sightseeing, shopping, and dining. (B)
Day 3 - San Francisco - Yosemite National Park. This morning, depart bustling San Francisco and travel to [FP] YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK. First protected in 1864, Yosemite is known for its waterfalls as well as its deep valleys, grand meadows, and ancient sequoias. Although more than 3.5 million visitors come to Yosemite each year, the majority visit during the summer. In the winter, you'll find a park full of tranquil beauty, snow, and quiet solitude. Winter is a magical time, with opportunities for hiking, playing in the snow, ice-skating, and more. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the historic Ahwahnee Hotel, your home for the next two nights. Explore the magnificent halls, great rooms, and learn about the Ahwahnee's unique history and design. Day 4 - Yosemite National Park. Bring your camera, as photo ops are sure to arise. Your afternoon is at leisure. You may want to try ice-skating at nearby Curry Village (weather permitting) or take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in an included excursion to the Ansel Adams Gallery for a [LF] guided PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR of Yosemite. You can actually walk in Ansel Adams' footsteps and see Yosemite through the camera lens"just like the legend himself. Tonight, why not relax by the crackling fire with a warm drink and be entertained by a local [LF] STORYTELLER? (B)
Day 5 - Yosemite National Park - San Francisco. After breakfast, depart Yosemite National Park and return to San Francisco. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner. Wonderful conversation and cuisine make the perfect finale for your vacation. (B,D)
Day 6 - San Francisco. The tour ends this morning after breakfast with guests departing on individual schedules. Airport transfers are provided. (B)
