Day 01
Frankfurt

Zurich - Rhine Falls - Titisee - Frankfurt

In the morning we'll begin our phenomenal Central and Western Europe tour from Zurich, heading out of the city to visit the gorgeous Lake Zurich for some of the best photo opportunities of the day.

From here we'll head out into the countryside to Schaffhausen to see Rhine Falls, one of the most majestic waterfalls in Switzerland.

Traveling along mountain roads, we'll cross the German border and enter the enchanting Black Forest on our way to see Lake Titisee. Here you can enjoy an optional lunch (own expense) by the lake of pork knuckle and authentic black forest cake.

In the evening we'll arrive in Frankfurt, one of the most astounding cities in Germany.

Day 02
Amsterdam

Frankfurt - Bonn - Cologne - Amsterdam

The first leg of our tour will bring us to Bonn, the former capital of West Germany. There we'll visit Beethoven House and University of Bonn, then head to Cologne to see the iconic Cathedral, followed by a stroll along the shopping street Schildergasse. After lunch we'll depart for Holland, staying overnight in Amsterdam or a neighboring city.

Day 03
Amsterdam

Amsterdam - Zaanse Schans - Amsterdam

Hotel: Hampton by Hilton Hotel / Amsterdam Airport Schiphol or similar

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll tour all the major attractions in Dam Square, including the Royal Palace and the National Monument. You will have the option of hopping onto a glass-topped boat for an hour-long cruise through the storied canals. Then we'll visit Coster Diamond Factory to see how these precious gems are cut and prepared for market, using techniques that have been in use since the 16th century. Our first stop in the afternoon will be Zaanse Schans, the windmill capital of Holland. There we'll visit the Wooden Shoe Workshop and Museum and the Cheese Farm to see how clogs and cheese are made. Back at the hotel, you might want to avail yourself of the optional tour of the world-famous Red Light District (own expense).

After breakfast we'll head to Brussels, the Belgian capital and political center of the European Union. Our first stop will be the Atomium monument, a cell-shaped structure of stainless steel spheres and tubes built for the 1958 World's Fair. Onward to Grand Place and Town Hall, the crowning achievement of Gothic civil architecture. After a look at Manneken Pis, the famous tinkling cherub, we'll head to the French border and make a beeline for Paris.

Day 05
Versailles

We'll begin our Paris adventure with a drive along the famous Champs Elysees to Place de la Concorde, which played a key role in one of darkest chapters of the French Revolution. You'll also get to see the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Next we'll head to L'Hotel National des Invalides, which houses Napoleon's tomb and a number of other monuments relating the military history of France.

Next we'll travel on coach through the Parisian suburbs to the splendid Palace of Versailles, residence of the royal family until the start of the revolution in 1789. We'll return to Paris in the evening. After dinner you may want to avail yourself of the optional cruise along the river Seine.

Tips:
Effective January 1, 2018, we will take a stop at Eiffel Tower right after L'Hotel National des Invalides. You can either take time to explore the neighborhood and have some lunch or scale the Eiffel Tower. Choice is yours.

The second day of our Paris experience begins with a visit to the Louvre, the grande dame of art museums. Here you will set your eyes upon some of the highest-valued masterpieces of the Western world, including Venus de Milo, Winged Victory of Samothrace, and Mona Lisa. After lunch we'll head to Boulevard Haussmann, a shopper's paradise in the heart of Paris, where you will be free to shop till you drop. Before you leave this captivating city don't miss the world-famous cabaret shows at Lido and Moulin Rouge (own expense).

Tips:
Effectively January 1, 2018, you can take a optional cruise along the river Seine after your visit of the Louvre. It is a great sightseeing option that offers splendid views of iconic Parisian landmarks, including Notre-Dame Cathedral and Pont Alexandre III.

We'll kick things off with a scenic drive to Calais. Our coach will either cross the English Channel by ferry or via Eurotunnel, ultimately arriving at Port of Dover. Enjoy the drive across the beautiful English countryside en route to London.

Tips:
There is a Euro 10 dollar toll per passenger to cross the English Channel, payable to the tour leader prior to departure. You will not be allowed to board the motorcoach until the toll is paid in full.

We'll begin our thrilling UK tour with a walking tour of London's major attractions (exterior only): Big Ben, House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, 10 Downing Street, Whitehall, St James Park, Buckingham Palace and River Thames.

In the afternoon, we'll visit the famous British Museum, and if time allows, St Paul’s Cathedral. You'll enjoy the scene of Tower Bridge and Tower of London while on board the motorcoach.

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll depart London to visit one of England's most prestigious educational institutions: Cambridge University, comprising King’s College and Queen's College, among many other world-famous faculties.

After exploring this historic city we'll journey to York, a true medieval melting pot of Roman, Saxon and Viking heritage. Mostly intact from the Middle Ages, the city is emblematic of England's more bucolic side. We'll visit York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe. Then we'll step up onto the York city walls, dating back to Roman times.

For those keen to discover the little grass-roots shops, there will be ample time to explore.

Day 10
Glasgow

York - Edinburgh - Glasgow

Today we'll cross the border into Scotland and visit the country's compact but fascinating capital, Edinburgh, the perfect representation of Scottish heritage. Wooden barrows of gold single malt whiskey, checked kilts and Scottish bagpipes will make you grow fond of this lively nation full of quirky characters.

First up on the agenda is a visit to Edinburgh Castle (admission not included) where we will admire the oldest royal crown and jewelry. From here we'll continue down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Palace, City Hall and the Royal Parks. You may also opt to join us for a visit to JK Rowling's Ivory Cafe, where Harry Potter was penned, to enjoy a cup of coffee (own expense).

Accommodations for the evening are in Glasgow or a neighboring city.

In the morning, we'll head back across the border to the Northwest of England. Here we'll drive straight to Lake District, and en route we'll make a stop in Gretna Green, a village in the south of Scotland famous for ‘runaway marriages’ dating back to 1754.

The most famous and visited national park in England, the Lake District National Park is a picturesque landscape of rolling hills, stunning lakes, and beautiful foliage. Each year tens of thousands of visitors travel here to see thousands of years of geological changes reflected in the lakes, valleys, mountains, and waterfalls. You may opt to join a cruise on Lake Windermere (own expense), or hop off at the World of Beatrix Potter.

We'll end the day with a drive to Manchester, the headquarters of Manchester United, as well as England’s most industrial metropolis. Football fans will enjoy a pilgrimage to the Manchester United Old Trafford grounds.
