Summary of The Day: Welcome to Hungary!
Please self-transfer to the hotel in Budapest, where you'll be able to check-in after 3:00pm. You'll receive an information packet at the front desk. The rest of the day is yours to either kick back and relax, or begin your exploration of Budapest.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll discover the Queen of the Danube on a scenic tour of Budapest: historic Buda on one side of the river, and cosmopolitan Pest on the other. At the end of the tour we'll enjoy a scenic cruise along the Danube, affording impressive views of the city's skyline and the magnificent parliament building!
Afterwards you'll have time to explore on your own and maybe visit a few of the attractions we passed by.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll say farewell to Budapest and cross over into the beautiful countryside of Slovakia, passing by rocky landscapes and picturesque villages.
From here we'll head into Poland, where we'll arrive in Chocholow, a lovely town of classic Polish wooden homes. After free time here, we'll head to Zakopane, Poland's winter capital. Here we'll get a chance to see a lovely view of the city as we take the funicular to Gubalowka and Butorowy Wierch mountains, enveloped in snow most of the year. Afterwards, you'll have free time to explore Krakow's historic center and enjoy dinner at the city's many fine restaurants (own expense).
Summary of The Day: Join us today for a city tour of Krakow where we'll introduce you to its fascinating medieval streets and Royal Palace (exterior only).
Directly afterwards, we'll head to the nearby village of Wieliczka and descend into the depths of the nearby Salt Mine. In this underground world we'll discover 300km of richly decorated caverns lined with paintings, sculptures, and chandeliers. You may even discover one of the mine's four chapels and, yes, they do offer wedding services.
Afterwards we'll return to Krakow and transfer to the city center where you can enjoy dinner (own expense).
Summary of The Day: Today we'll travel to a chilling part of Poland's past with a visit to the infamous concentration camp, Auschwitz. We'll tour its haunted grounds and discover its dark past.
Afterwards, we'll say farewell to Poland and travel to the Czech Republic, stopping first at Olomouc. We'll enjoy lunch here, with free time to wander the streets, passing by numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Then we'll arrive in the amazing city of Prague. After checking into the hotel, we'll transfer you to Old Town Square, where you can discover Prague's culturally rich tourist attractions and amazing restaurants (own expense).
Summary of The Day: Today we welcome you to discover one of the Jewels of Europe on a guided tour with a local expert. We'll uncover Prague's amazing history and unmatched monuments as well as gorgeous Prague Castle (admission included). Afterwards, we'll take a cruise on the Vltava River which divides the city.
Later you'll have free time to explore on your own. In the evening, we'll transfer you to the historic city centre, where you can dine at one of the many delectable Czech restaurants (own expense).
Summary of The Day: After breakfast, our lovely tour will come to an end and we'll say farewell.
