Day 02

Munich - Salzburg - Ljubljana

Hotel: Hotel Park Ljubljana / M Hotel or similar

Our journey begins today as we depart Munich and head for the Slovenian capital.

Along the way we'll pass through Austria, making a stop at Salzburg along the way. Featuring gorgeous architecture, a formidable cliff-top fortress and imposing cliffs in the distance, Salzburg is the home town of Amadeus Mozart – see if a little of his genius rubs off on you!

We'll stop at Lake Bled for photos. Surrounded by the Julian Alps and overlooked by the medieval Bled Castle on the north shore, the lake and its centerpiece island are the stuff of fairy tales.

As soon as we arrive in Ljubljana, we’ll get right to exploring this little gem of a city. Despite its small size, you'll be entranced by the beauty of Ljubljana, home to a wealth of cultures, activities and sights. As you walk the scenic lanes you'll be graced by sweeping views of Ljubljana Castle, a 16th century castle towering over the city.

Tonight after dinner, explore a little more and take advantage of the fact that pretty much everything is just a stroll away!

Breakfast and dinner are included.

Stroll along the boardwalks and marvel at the incredible natural scenery of Croatia's largest national park. Filled with waterfalls, lush vegetation and countless lakes, this is one of the most beautiful stops on the tour, so keep your camera at the ready!

Once we've had an eyeful, and a full camera-load of snapshots, we'll head to our hotel in a beach resort near Split, for an included dinner and relaxing evening.

Breakfast and dinner are included.

Later we'll arrive in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Sarajevo, which has officially returned from the brink of destruction in the 1990's, and is now famous for its East-meets-West vibe. Learn all about the city's troubled past on a walking tour of this fascinating city.

Day 11

Vienna - Mathausen - Prague

Hotel: Hotel Duo or similar

Our journey will lead us to Prague today, one of the hidden gems of Europe - but not before stepping into the darker past of Europe's History.

We'll visit Mauthausen concentration camp, a labor camp during the Second World War where hundreds of thousands of political prisoners lost their lives.

We'll also take a comfort stop in Český Krumlov. Blessed with a spectacular castle and a wealth of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, Český Krumlov is often thought of as a sort of mini-Prague.

Then we'll arrive in Prague, where we'll take a guided walking tour. Since freeing itself from Communism, Prague has joined other urban jewels to take its place as one of Europe's most fascinating destinations. Famous for its art, architecture, cobbled lanes and ancient chapels, this is also the origin of some of Europe's finest beer.

Your local tour guide will proudly escort you through Prague's historic streets, pointing out the features of Old Town, Primatial Palace, Slovak National Theatre, and the Main Square.

Breakfast and dinner are included.
Day 12

Highlights of the day might include the majestic Prague Castle, the famous Charles Bridge (you need to also see the views from the bridge at night - simply stunning...), the ‘Old Town’ and the Jewish Quarter. The Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square is a ‘must see’ - the intricate puppetry and show which is performed on the hour, draws hundreds of people throughout the day and night.

For those who wish to put your stamp on the city, why not visit legendary Lennon wall - a tribute to John Lennon and words of peace, which is added to on a daily basis by the thousands of visitors to the city.
