Day 01
Cusco

After your driver takes you to the hotel in Cusco, the rest of the morning will be yours to rest and acclimatize - Cusco is about 11,000 feet above sea level. In the afternoon we'll visit the Inca Museum (Museo Inka), which houses Andean artifacts dating back thousands of years. Here you will gain a better understanding of the origins of the Andean civilizations.

From there we'll continue on to Koricancha, the famous Sun Temple of Qosqo, that was and still is the pinnacle of Inca religion, architecture and civilization.

Day 02
Chinchero

Saqsayhuaman - Temple of the Moon - Chinchero

Our first stop on Day 2 is the ancient citadel Saqsayhuaman, considered to be one of the greatest feats of architectural engineering in the history of mankind. From here we'll continue on to the Temple of the Moon, a place for spiritual connection and enhancement. Here you will have your first opportunity to connect with Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the power of the Andes. We will also introduce you to the unique Karpay ritual.

In the afternoon we'll travel by car to the town of Chinchero.

Chinchero, the rainbow village, is a picturesque community situated on a high plateau overlooking the snowcapped peaks of the Andes. It is also home of the ruins of the royal palace of Topa Inca Yupanqui.

We'll start early, beginning with a tour of the sacred temples and altars in Chinchero, followed by a full day of ceremony and deep connection as part of the Wachuma (San Pedro) ceremony, the perfect opportunity to cleanse, heal, and purify on all levels: physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and otherwise.

Aguas Calientes

Chinchero - Maras - Moray - Machu Picchu

In the morning we'll visit the Textile Interpretation Center to learn more about the art of Andean textiles, then continue by car to Moray, an ancient construction originally designed to study the growth of crops at a range of altitudes and microclimates.

Then we'll visit the the salt mines of Maras, vital to the economy of the Incas.

In the afternoon we will travel by car to the to the train station in Ollantaytambo to transfer to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu).

Day 05
Ollantaytambo

Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo

Today we will rise early for breakfast to arrive at the citadel of Machu Picchu in time to see the beautiful sunrise. We will spend the rest of the morning visiting the many temples, altars and lookouts of Machu Picchu, one of the new Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

In the afternoon we will go by train to the archaeological site Ollantaytambo.

Tips:
Join us on an optional trek to the top of Huayna Picchu, a rigorous climb on steep trails with impressive ruins and spectacular views - about two hours round-trip (admission not included).

Cusco

Quillarumiyoq

Quillarumiyoq is an ancient temple dedicated to the Moon Goddess and other feminine essences of Mother Earth. A traditional Andean priest will lead us in the despacho (offering) ceremony, where you will have the opportunity to convey your gratitude to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus, the guardian spirits of the mountains.

The ceremony is another opportunity to go deeper into our spiritual realm, to continue to heal and harmonize while liberating and/or transforming all the excess and negative energy we have accumulated through our experiences in life to make way for a lighter, freer existence.

Route of the Sun

Today we will travel by bus along the Route of the Sun, with planned stops at the following sites:

Andahuaylillas: the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, highlighting the fusion between Catholic and Andean religions.

Raqchi: An Inca temple of monumental dimensions dedicated to the god Wiracocha, creator of the universe.

La Raya: Midway point on our journey and the highest point on the road.

Pucara: One of the oldest and most important ceremonial centers on the high plains, well known for its lithic structures and tombs.

Day 08
Puno

Uros - Amantani Island

Hotel: Home stay or similar

Today we'll climb aboard a boat for a full-day tour of Lake Titicaca. There we will visit the ancient culture of the Uros and step foot on their floating islands. The islanders will give us a presentation about making and maintaining these man-made islands, built using the totora reed that grows on the shores of the lake.

Continuing across the lake we will arrive at the island of Amantani. Here the Quechua families will offer us humble yet cozy home-stay lodging and prepare us traditional food for lunch, after which we'll make the short climb to the island's two hilltops to visit two pre-Inca temples: Pachatata and Pachamama. In the evening after dinner the community members will hold a small welcoming party for us.

Puno

Amantani Island

In the morning we will visit the two ceremonial temples of Pachatata and Pachamama. The Pachatata ceremonial center stands in honor of a pre-Inca civilization which flourished at 4,115 meters above sea level.

In the afternoon we will return to the city of Puno and spend the night there.

Lake Titicaca

Amaru Muru or Willka Uta

On our way to Amaru Muru we will make an interesting stop at an ancient fertility temple that houses around 20 large phallic statue. Continuing on through the Valley of the Spirits, we'll arrive at Amaru Muru, one of the most sacred and spiritually charged places in the Lake Titicaca area. The site includes a carving in solid rock known to be a portal into other dimensions.

Puno - Juliaca - Lima

We'll make the short drive from Puno to the airport in the neighboring city of Juliaca, to meet our connecting flight to Lima.

  • Depending on your arrival time, your hotel room may not be available until the afternoon. Most hotels allow check-in between 1:00pm-3:00pm, however some charge a fee for early check-in.
