Summary of The Day: Welcome to Hungary!
Please self-transfer to the hotel in Budapest, where you'll be able to check-in after 3:00pm. You'll be able to receive an information packet about the tour at the front desk. The rest of the day is yours to either kick back and relax, or begin your exploration of Budapest.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll discover the Queen of the Danube on a scenic tour of Budapest: historic Buda on one side of the river, and the cosmopolitan Pest on the other. At the end of the tour we'll enjoy a scenic cruise along the Danube, affording impressive views of the city's skyline and the magnificent parliament building!
Afterwards you'll have time to explore on your own and maybe visit a few of the attractions we passed by during the tour. In the late afternoon we'll transfer you to a lively neighborhood where you'll be free to choose from a selection of dining options for dinner (own expense).
Summary of The Day: Today we'll say farewell to Budapest and cross over into the beautiful countryside of Slovakia, passing by rocky landscapes and picturesque villages.
From here we'll head into Poland, where we'll arrive in Chocholow, a lovely town of classic Polish wooden homes. After free time here, we'll head to Zakopane, Poland's winter capital. Here we'll get a chance to see a lovely view of the city as we take the funicular to Gubalowka and Butorowy Wierch mountains, enveloped in snow most of the year.
Afterwards, we'll arrive in Krakow, where you'll have free time to explore the historic center and enjoy dinner at the city's many fine restaurants (own expense).
Summary of The Day: Join us today for a city tour of Krakow, where we'll introduce you to its fascinating medieval quarter and Royal Palace (exterior only).
Directly afterwards, we'll head to the nearby village of Wieliczka and descend into the depths of the nearby Salt Mine. In this underground world we'll discover 300km of richly decorated caverns lined with paintings, sculptures, and chandeliers. You may even discover one of the mine's four chapels and, yes, they do offer wedding services.
Afterwards we'll return to Krakow and transfer to the city center, where you can enjoy dinner at your own expense.
